15 Three on One (1/2)
As Shi Li continued on walking, he encountered more and more beasts that eyed the wolf corpse he was carrying. In turn, he placed the wolf corpse down where it wasn't reachable by the beasts, and fought against them.
Most of the time, he would defeat the beasts in three to five moves, not being able to touch the wolf corpse. Sometimes, a few beasts would be able to touch it, but end up being slammed in the head with a strong fist from Shi Li.
With these fights, his combat prowess grew higher as he could use his brain more and more in terms of decision-making. Even if he faced against two beasts at the same time, it wasn't a problem.
By the tenth encounter, he was able to utilize all of his power in every attack he made, killing the beasts faster. With that, the amount of corpses he had accumulated was at least over 10, but he still carried the wolf corpse, neglecting the other corpses.
Why? He was going to come back to the corpses and sell it off. From [The Azure Dusk Continent] Shi Li read, beast corpses were one of the main ways of earning money in the continent. Some parts of beast corpses were even highly valued, allowing someone to live off their profit forever if one gets that part.
…
Twenty minutes later, Shi Li stopped walking, placing down the wolf corpse beside a nearby tree. He opened the map from his eye and looked at where he currently was.
The green blinking dot from before was now further in the forest, nearing the cut-off line of the green area and the orange area. The green area is the outskirts and the orange area is the inner depths.
Seeing that he was at the right place in mind, he proceeded to drag the corpse towards a somewhat open area. He then removed the plants he placed on the wounds, allowing the blood to gush out. He also proceeded to remove the wolf's head from the abdomen, allowing for more blood to spill.
In just a matter of seconds, the blood from the wolf spread to over 4 meters in diameter, even covering the wolf's fur in its own blood.
Shi Li went to a tree and climbed up, standing on a nearby branch as he looked down at the wolf corpse.
'The stench of blood is so strong already. It would be some sort of miracle if no beasts come to the corpse and eat it.'
And so, he waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Until finally, after 15 minutes of waiting, three beasts showed up and started to surround the wolf corpse. This shocked Shi Li for a good while, but not long after, thought that it was a given.
The first beast was a wolf-type beast, just like the wolf Shi Li killed from earlier. But its fur was slightly darker, with a line of red fur starting from its head to its tail. Its teeth were also extremely sharp, allowing it to cut through anything like butter. And for once, the wolf exuded an aura that instilled fear into anyone that sensed it. But Shi Li felt that it wouldn't affect him much, concluding that the wolf's cultivation was around the beginning of the first stage of Skin Tempering.
The wolf's name was the Sharpfang Red Streak Wolf.
The beast on the right of this wolf was about a meter in height, just passing Shi Li's stomach by a bit. Its length was 5 meters long, definitely longer than the first wolf he killed by two meters. Its skin was a mix between yellow and orange, somewhat harsh to the eyes. Its paws were large and its claws were pointed, same goes for its teeth. Its eyes were colored red as it eyed the wolf corpse. Its aura was stronger than the wolf beside it, but still weaker than Shi Li's, concluding that its cultivation was at the middle of the first stage of the Skin Tempering.
The beast's name is the Crimson Eyed Tiger.
Last but not the least, was the beast beside the tiger. It was smaller compared to the tiger and wolf, but its aura was stronger than the previous two by a large amount, it also suppressed Shi Li's aura by a bit, allowing Shi Li to conclude that the beast's cultivation was at the beginning of the second stage of Skin Tempering.
Its skin was dark brown in hue and rough in texture. It had two tusks that extended almost a meter out from its mouth. With the tusks alone, Shi Li was sure that this beast was a boar.
Not just any boar, but the Earth Crushing Boar.
Forming a plan in his mind, Shi Li jumped down from the tree and headed towards the weakest of the three, the Sharpfang Red Streak Wolf.
As the wolf was occupied on eating the carcass, Shi Li formed a blade with his hand and aimed it towards the wolf's skull.
With the speed of descent and his strength, his hand went straight through his skull without any resistance, turning its brain into mush and passing through the wolf's trachea.
The wolf was surprised that someone dared to attack it, but it was killed in one go, leaving it with eyes wide open in disbelief as its jaw hanging open with some bits of carcass meat stuck between its teeth.
In just a second, the wolf limped down, losing all of its strength as blood gushed out from its body, increasing the radius of the blood puddle. It was officially dead.
The two beasts beside the wolf only became aware of Shi Li after he killed the wolf in one go. The two beasts stepped back from the carcass, as they made some distance between them and Shi Li. They were quite intimidated from Shi Li's prowess, but being beasts, they would rather fight to the death than surrender.
Shi Li bent his knees as he looked at the two beasts, calculating his chances of winning. He then dashed towards the tiger beast as he shot an uppercut towards the tiger's jaw.
The tiger beast stepped back from where it was, barely dodging the uppercut as it felt the wind from it. It slightly shuddered as it knew that if it hit it there and then, it would definitely die.
Seeing that his uppercut didn't connect, he retracted his fist as he rotated to land a punch towards the tiger's right abdomen.
Bang!
The tiger was sent flying as it crashed through five trees before falling to the ground, splinters all over its body.
Before Shi Li could even head towards the tiger, the boar charged towards Shi Li with its tusks aimed at his chest.
Shi Li grabbed the boar by its tusk and jumped over it, before kicking the boar from its backside. The boar's face was planted to the ground as it skidded for three meters.
Afterwards, Shi Li continued to head towards the tiger as it was shaking the splinters off. The tiger was lopsided as it looked at Shi Li with eyes of rage.
At the exact moment Shi Li was just a few centimeters away to land a punch, the tiger swiped its claws downward, hoping to injure Shi Li.
Shi Li sidestepped to the tiger's left side as he raised both of his fists and slammed it down towards the tiger's abdomen.
Crack!
An audible cracking sound could be heard as Shi Li did this, presumably from the tiger's ribcage breaking. Shi Li continued to slam his fists on the tiger's abdomen, making the tiger cough out blood.
The boar hurriedly stood up on its hooves, dirt still visible on its face. It charged towards Shi Li, but stopped midway as it saw the tiger being slammed repeatedly, its abdomen quite deformed.
And with one more slam, the tiger's abdomen ripped open, revealing the tiger's insides. Shi Li took advantage of this by grabbing the tiger's heart and squeezing it to burst, rendering the tiger dead.
Seeing this, the boar shivered in fear as it turned around and ran away.
