”That's not wrong.” David answered slowly, making sure Kalin absorbed everything. ”they are the representation of gifts and blessings from different deities, as well as skills gained through practice and effort. Do you know what deities are?”

Kalin couldn't help but tilt his head, ”They are gods, right?”

”Gods are one of the types of deities out there. Deities are those that become so great that they can create miracles. The most common types are demigods, gods and high gods. Do you understand so far?”

”I think so.” Responded the child.

”Like I said earlier, sometimes people work hard and receive skills from their own efforts and dedication. Other times, skills are innate abilities that can correspond with a person's race or natural talents. The last common way to receive skills is based on the whims of the deities.”

”I don't get it.”

The priest just smiled, ”The gods and goddesses sometimes give people who they find interesting skills for seemingly no reason but their interest in a person.”

”Does that mean that they're watching us?”

”Yes, all deities above demigods know about all people in the world, though they only usually pay close attention to people that gain skills that correspond with their godly powers or ones they gift them to.” David decided to finish up with one last question. ”Are there any people in this room that you would like to leave the room before we proceed?”

”No.”

David just sighed in relief, ”Now that we got that over with, now all you have to do is place one hand on the shrine and think about wanting to see your skills.” He gestured toward the table and said, ”Go ahead.”

Kalin didn't need to be told again as he placed his left hand on the shrine. As his excitement peaked, he closed his eyes and thought about wanting to know his abilities. Slowly, a small stone tablet started to materialize in the air in front of him. It was about the size of a pocket-size book and had a slight glow to it.

”Okay, you can grab your status plate.” The priest said, causing Kalin to open his eyes.

As he saw the tablet in front of him, he grabbed it as the glow dimmed, and it stopped floating as if gravity only started affecting it when he disturbed it. On the surface, rows of words appeared.
