Two years after Hailey brought her to the island...

One afternoon,as they rested on a rock boulder while watching the waves and the penguins,Jim started to open up.

” Dr. Hailey,don't you miss Aijohn? How were you able to endure the pain of losing him? ”

Hailey laughed. ”You miss her? ”

” Yes. ”

She couldn't understand. Of that two years she had been assisting him in his recovery and rehabilitation, she felt a pang of pain deep inside in this confession. But this should not be! She's only helping Aijohn secretly.Most of all,she just wanted to avenge for Dr. Jim against those research team who withheld the repurchase of Hailey's Pilljust because they desired for his death!

”Dr. Jim,I'll take you home. ”

She said it but her heart didn't agree.Of the two years he was with her, she could no longer imagine a day without him. Even justa thought of it,made her start to feel a sense of deep loneliness.

”Not now,Dr. Hailey. I will only go home once you will be able to proclaim the perfect cancer cure to the world. You have already wasted two years just because you did not leave me. And what about our revenge to our enemy?Didn't we have an agreement that on the day you will launch it, you will also surprise them with my existence?”

She should have felt a sense of relief with this answer but his happiness mattered to her more than the success of her research.

”Ihave changed my mind, Dr. Jim. The fact that you're alive will already blow their minds away. What would they attribute to your recovery than Hailey's Pill itself?” She argued,resisting the temptation to hold him back.

”I will help you finalize everything first and I want you to present me to the world asthe living testimony of your product. ”

”You might be too late in coming home. ” She pushed him away while she still had the courage.

”To the world and to my family,I am already dead. ”

”What if Jia will get married?Won't you regret it? Go home while it is not too late yet. ”

Hailey accompanied him to the city and while Jim was still preparing himself to meet his family again,he decided to hear some news about them first. For more than two years,hehad cut himself from the world and even a single update aboutCatherine Fields in the internet, he did not have.

One morning,while she and Hailey passed by the entrance of Jian's Garden, she saw a familiar car and knew instantly that it was Jia. He wondered why she was not changing it into a new one but then he remembered that she always held sentimental values on things. He realized that the reason she kept it was because it was the car he bought her after her abduction. It only meant,he still held a special place in her heart.

While he was tempted to stop her right then and lift her up into the air to fill out his loneliness,he decided to follow her instead. Few minutes after,they were already on a memorial garden. It was already past four in the morning and they were already joggers all around. Deciding to disguise themselves as hikers,they alighted from the car and followed her.

Soon,they saw her enter a mausuleom and through the bright indoor lights,he saw his name being inscripted into a marble tombstone.

Being emotionally disturbed as she appeared to be,she did not turn to her left or right to see if there was anyone around. She even did not saw them when they hid behind the big pillar of the building.

Few moments after, through the eerie silence of the whole place,they heard her bitter cry.

”Jim,would you forgive me if I would break my promise to be your wife forever? Would you confront me if one of these days,I would be marrying your own brother? Would you hate me or would you understand just as how you understood my own failures and unworthiness? ”

While she cried hard,Jim also couldn't hold himself from crying with her.

”I'm sorry for failing you. I know that I could no longer find someone whose heart is as big as yours.I could no longer find someone who would love and embrace my deceitful heart like you do. And I could no longer find someone,who only knows how to give and to forgive. ”

” But you're unfair,you're leaving me

forever... and now I also need to go...”

They watched her wailed and fell on the floor, writhing in pain. They also watched her kissed the tombstone as she said her last goodbye.

And they saw Anthon as he arrived and as he gently pulled her into his embrace,reprimanding her for going out alone.
