”I did not look at her the moment she came out from me. I must prevent that first emotional attachment I would have with her. She's going to be your daughter. But everytime I make a design for Hailey,I just couldn't stop making another for Gracie. And I had it delivered to his office. ”

”Believe me,Glen,the moment I left at the airport,was the day I ended our forbidden relationship. ”

Maxine was already sobbing after her last statement and she fell down at her feet to ask for forgiveness. Glenda was so good to her and she remembered it all.That was why she got the courage to end her sinful ties with him.

Holding back the urge to cry,she walked away hurriedly. She should not be seen crying. She should not be seen displaying her weaknesses.

Later at the hotel,Felix and Gracie returned.It was obvious that he already knew it.

”Mommy,mommy,I met Auntie Maxie. I just didn't understand why she was crying.Daddy said,she's crying because it was the first time she saw her bestfriend's daughter. Is it true,Mom,that you are friends? ”

Glenda pondered on her statements.Maxine was crying hard. If she stole her husband before,she was also taking her right to be her daughter's mother. And not only for a short while,as short as the time that they betrayed her, but for a lifetime.

Despite her anger and humiliation,she somehow felt a sense of pity towards Maxine. She chose to ease her guilt by a lifetime sacrifice of giving out her daughter.

Felix was torn with guilt as well. He would rather chose to see her

getting wild in anger.He would rather want to hear her crying and cursing.But she was just silent. And her silencewas driving her crazy with guilt.

Though,he was willing to admit that he did not love her even after five years of marriage,because he was still consumed by his anger towards Maxine's disappearance, but that changed when Gracie came in to their lives.

With tormenting guilt inside,he felt he was not worthy to stay. He packed his things in a separate luggage. When he was finally done,he stood up and gathered his first and final courage to face her.

”Glen,I'm sorry but I know its unforgivable. I'mno longer worthy to stay with you. ”

Glenda bravely looked at him as he was about to open the door.

”You have already torn me apart,and now,would you also do the same to your daughter?”

”We can pretend. ” She said, then,spoke again.”And tell her she can make as many dresses for Gracie.You may bring her also to her once in a while. ”

She,then , went inside the bathroom and turned the faucet on. The noise of the running water slamming against the floor was not enough to drown the bitterness of her wailing.

”So that's why she always sobbed everytime we met?Because she's my biological mother?” Grace broke into a loud wailing,then.

She couldn't dare to get angry at them. They did not have any shortcomings as her parents. She was well - supported in all aspects and most of all,she was their everything.

”How did Hailey came in to the research lab? ”

”As his own, alienated child,we decided to venture on the research lab to support her ambition. We knew that she wanted to be a biological scientist. ” Glenda explained.

”I'm very sensitive in a parent-child issues so Felix introduced himself as his father. Yet,I could never convince him to introduce Maxine as Gracie's mother. ”

Madamme Ybañez still displayed her ability to hide her emotions but Mr. Ybañez got instantly tounge - tied after his revelation. His most dreaded moment had come. Dreaded moment because,he was afraid that Gracie might not be able to accept it.
