Glenda pushed the glass door open but no receptionist came out to greet her. Perhaps,they were inside,preparing stuffs,she thought. She looked around the room and saw those mannequins in the corners,clad with glamorous, bridal gowns.

After few minutes,she sat down in a couch and picked up a magazine with big print on the cover,” Hailey's Apparel”. Her eyes glowed in happiness. This was her husband's favorite brand.

As soon as she opened the first page,the joy in her heart suddenly turned to a sudden wave of shock!

In it was a photo of a ten - year - old girl,posing for a dress design. She stared at it,closer and closer as she squinted her eyes but still,she couldn't be wrong. She looked exactly like Gracie. To common eyes,the difference couldn't be pointed out but to a mother, the contrast was crystal clear.

Then,she heard a woman's voice inside the room talking to someone on the phone. She could still remember well.It was Maxine's.

”Are you already in the school? Hailey's teacher is already calling to inform me that no one was picking her up. ”

Glenda's heart raced. How could this girl be like Gracie?Did she give birth to a twin? And the other one was given to her?Impossible!She still remembered well that the size of her abdomen was smaller than the expected average size of its gestational age.

Did she ever gave birth? The late sensations of fetal movement, the lesser strength of its kicks compared to her friend's , the sudden change of Dr. Glory's decision to reveal the gender,her offer of a painless delivery despite her reluctance,the absence of pain and discharges after she gave birth,were sealing her doubts.

These doubts did not just occured to her concidentally. She happened to read an article about it and even talkedwith another OBregarding that certain topic. There were something odd in her pregnancy which triggered her speculations. Aside from the fact ,that they did all the measures to get pregnantbut ended up in vain. How could a magic of pregnancy surface after giving up on their effort?

Afraid for its confirmation, she refused to show up for prenatal check - upuntil Glory called her for the gender confirmation. What happened afterwards heightened her suspicion but her fears outweighed her courage. She remembered how happy Felix was. And if she did not really gave birth, did it mean that he was happy for someone else's pregnancy?

Wait, Gracie did not get her looks nor Felix. If she was the mother of this girl,did it mean that Felix lied to her and gave the other baby to Maxine?

As she thought deeper about it, a new realization occured to her and this was more acceptable. Right,Maxine must have been pregnant with Felix as the father and they agreed to give her one child. Was that possible?She was his personal secretary!

She,then, thought about their friendship and how happy they were. Only to realize,she was cheating. And that was the reason why she did not keep in touch with her anymore as she promised. And that was why Felixhad all the designs of Hailey's Kids Apparel.

Why would she suspect her?Because,The Promised Wedding's trademarked brand in all their wedding dresses is'Hailey's '.

While still lost in her thoughts, a woman with a child banged loudly on the door as they entered in.

”Mommy,I'm here. ” The girl who looked like Gracie was in school uniform anddid not recognize her.

”Darl... ”Maxine rushed outside to hug her,only to be caught horrified by her presence.

She stood motionless for a while before she gathered her strength to speak.

”Bring Hailey inside and close the door. ” She said while stealing a glance at her.

Then,she stood up and spoke.

”Glen...” Her next word was lost as she stood quivering before her.

”What happened? ” She asked calmly.The heiress of a big company should not be seen losing and failing in front of an adulteress.

”Five years ago,I came back to take revenge on Felix for betraying his promise. But instead of revenge,I found myself so weak that resulted to my pregnancy. I knew it was a mistake and that was the reason why I left. ”

” I've learned about your false pregnancy,then,that would have been a ground for your marriage dissolution. I was so guilty,then , so I agreed to give you Gracie so that he would stay. You could not give him a child. ”
