”Hahaahha! I love it,dad. ” Anthon's laughter rang in the closed walls of the dining room.
None of them saw him standing by the exit door at the kitchen. Jia flushed deeply as he came to hug her and his dad.
”Ton, you're here. Where's Anna? ” Mr. Wayne stuttered. He was just caught gossiping.
”I'm alone. ” He said as his eyes fell tenderly at Jia who was staring hard at the mangoes she was peeling.
”Jia,dear.Is there a problem with the mangoes? ” Jia was startled at his question, being unable to overcomethe awkwardness yet.
It was Mr. Wayne's turn to laugh. ”Don't scare her. ”
Anthon just smiledas he touched the top of her head. Seeing her awkwardness,he shifted the topic.
”Dad,where's Jim? I need to talk to him. ”
”In the garden. ” Mr. Wayne answered.
He nodded and fixed a gaze at his dad.
”Dad,I'm leaving with Anna for Dubai tomorrow. ” He said, noticing her stiffening from where she stood.
He pulled out a chair and pulled her arm gently as he made her sit down in it.
”What?What about your wedding? ”
Mr. Wayne couldn't seem to grasp it.
”We decided to cancel it for now. Because the wedding song is too depressing. ” He then chuckled,pinching Jia's nose.
Mr. Wayne instantly brooded for him again. His situation was just too complicated. ”Why did you change your mind? ”
Anthon paused to think for a while.
”Because, dad,I need more time. ”
He,then, excused himself and went to the garden.
Mr. Wayne turned to Jia and pulled out the mangoes in her hand. ”Go to your music room. ” He said,having understood what she may had felt at the moment.
In the garden...
”Ton,don't do something you will regret in the future.”
Anthon stared at him, wondering what he meant.
” If only I can tell you not to marry her until you are ready but I know it is inappropriate. ”
”What do you mean? ” Anthon's brows were already knitted into one.
”You don't love her enough. ”
Anthon smiled as he placed an arm over his shoulder. His heart was torn in seeing him getting paler.
”That's why I'm here, to tell you that I'm leaving with Anna tomorrow. We're canceling the wedding because we don't have enough time to prepare. See you there, then, when we will have the date. ”
Jim shook his head. He couldn't be deceived. Distance was just a frail wayto forget.
”Thank you so much for all your sacrifices, Ton. For highly respecting me to the extent of hurting yourself. I don't need to tell you the details of how I understand everything. ” He smiled and paused for a long while before he continued.
”I'm also leaving soon. May I leave them to you? ”
”What do you mean? ”
”You're making me say the word. I'm soon leaving this world. ” He smiled bitterly.
”Don't ever say that!I 'll give you my bone marrow as many times as possible. You also have the Hailey's Pill. ”
Jim stared at him,confirming his speculation that he was,indeed, his donor.
”Thank you so much, again,Ton.Words won't just be enough. And those pill... ” He stopped and looked away.
