151 Worried Sick About You (1/2)
Seated in the back pew,was Mr. Wayne. Beside him, were two physical therapists and one nurse. He watched Jia with misty eyes. A lifelong sentence behind the bars wouldn't be enough to pay the sins he did for her.
He did not look at her as a faulty human being anymore but a heaven - sent angel. Because of her,he learned more about the better side of life which couldn't be bought with wealth. Because of her,he learned about profound happiness. Because of her and her encouragement, his determination to get well soon fired up inside him. The power of his mind, his emotional support from his family, his medical management as well as physical rehabilitation program and Hailey's Pill worked out synergistically for his rapid healing and recovery.
The moment he was able to speak clearly,he became Jia's business mentor. He patiently taught her the basic steps of understanding and running the hospital to the most complicated ones. He knew that Jim's heart was never in the business, but he saw that Jia could take the responsibility better. The business was his life and the legacy of his wife's family.
He was amazed of her brilliance and willingness to learn. Not only that,he was also amazed of how well she was in multi - tasking. From being a perfect wife of his son to a mother of his grandson, from being his moral adviser and rehabilitator to a business learner, from running Gee's Cafe and her contribution in Jian's garden to being a university student herself, she was a superwoman and a prodigy of strength in his
eyes.
Now,she walked in that aisle like a supermodel on a runway, being greatly loved by many. She had touched so many lives including him. A sense of great pride for her wonderfully thrived in his heart.
Soon, the highlight of the wedding came through when the bridal march was sounded.Dr. Grace appeared at the door in her cream - colored wedding dress. She walked slowly down the aisle, her well - fitted bodice which had a low cut on the back, enhanced the great shape of the upper part of her body. Her flared skirt which was designed to conceal her alreay protruding abdomen, hugged her great curvesand flowed out gracefully to the floor. As she moved against the lights, the diamond beads which were embellishedthroughout the length of her gown sparkled and her total figure spoke ofglamour and elegance.
Jia sat down in the honored seat beyond the front pew, watching the groom and the bride with wet eyes and heavy heart. Her threatening tears which she tried hard to hold back, fell unwelcomed as she listened to Koko saying his vow.
” I,Aijohn Sphere, take you, Gracienne Ybañez, to be my lawfully wedded wife , to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. ”
Her heart sank when she thought that everyone of them were already happy and fulfilled if the matters of the heart was concerned, except Anthon, who stubbornly buried her inside his heart. She prayed that someone would soon came along...
As all of them who were present during the engagement dinner were invited,Anthon sat at the opposite back pew with Brian. Both their hearts swelled when they saw Jia.Each of them had their own story of great friendship with her....
Anddivine love for Anthon.
”Ton, when are you planning to set your eyes on a woman? You might not be able to catch the last train. ”Brian teased him.
Anthon chuckled.
”No need. I have long found her already. Just waiting for our own time. While there is life, there is hope. ” Anthon aired out his stubborness again.
”Ton,forgive me for this wrong suspicion, if ever. The woman you mean is Jia Anna? ”
Anthon did not reply.
”And Ton,I am really suspecting that Jian is your child with her. He is such your replica. You cannot deny it. ”
