59 Two Snakes and a Cat on a Mission (1/2)
The rest of the day was uneventful.
After eating lunch with the group as normal, they went on to charms class which was taught by professor Flitwick, a short person who was rumored to have the blood of goblins and, was actually the head of Ravenclaw. How surprising.
The class, for the most part, was amusing. With the professor constantly squeaking when he was surprised and kept on tripping and tumbling out of sight when he accidentally steps on a random book on the floor. Finding this funny, ever since the first time it happened, Draco would 'accidentally' drop a book right on the professor's path whenever he felt bored just for the heck of it.
Not that Casimir was complaining though. It really was funny and never failed to put him on a good mood, much to the chagrin of the tiny professor.
Afterwards, during their next class which happened to be transfiguration, they were instructed to turn buttons into ribbons which, Casimir has succeeded in on his first try, followed by Draco a few minutes later, scoffing when he realized that Casimir was a bit faster than himself.
After getting his work checked by the professor and having nothing else to do for the rest of the class, he decided to take a nap and was only woken up after the class ended.
In the end, Goyle wasn't able to complete the task, being the only one in the class to have failed in it. Serves him right.
...
After an uneventful dinner, they each went back to their rooms, with only Casimir insisting to stay back in the common room with the excuse of reading alone.
It was there that, when evening had fully arrived, reading a book about dark arts that should have been banned in the school, Casimir began to hear tapping on the walls in an uneven rhythm, as if something was running across them.
Glancing towards where the sound came from, he found that the shadows around that area were swaying, slowly morphing to produce a shape. Then, moments after, the shape had fully converged to form a cat which walked out of the shadows, its bright green eyes glowing in the dark as it headed towards Casimir silently.
”Noir...” Casimir said softly and took a piece of dried meat from a small pouch beneath his robes and threw it towards the black cat who eagerly snatched it in its mouth. ”Still nothing, huh?”
Noir swallowed his snack and shook his head, leaping onto his master's lap and purring softly when his back was caressed. It seemed that he had forgotten that he was a ferocious beast and had truly accepted his role as an ordinary housecat.
