13 Buying the Orphanage (2/2)
Aily didn't say anything but instead nodded. She already experienced a bit of the dark side of the world already. But this opened her eyes as she never seen such a terrible person before. She now couldn't help but appreciate the kindness she was given by Reed and his family even more.
”Do you understand why, I made Mark do what he did?” Reed wanted to see if Aily understood everything right in front of her. Even though Aily was a child, she was still able to understand the major parts of what transpired.
”It was because that man was a bad man. Since he was bad, he was punished by you.” Even though she answered back naively, it was correct. Reed was happy to see that she understood why he did what he did.
”It's our responsibility to punish those that hurt others for no good reason.”
”I want to be someone that punishes bad guys as well.” Aily swore to herself to punish those that mean harm. At the same time she promised silently to always be beside Reed and protect him. As she didn't want to be the one who was going to be protected all the time.
Reed smiled. As someone who'll be close to Reed for the rest of his life, Reed knew Aily would get into dangerous situations in the future. So he wanted to train her in a way to prepare herself for those situations.
Reed then turned to Elaine who was stunned after hearing that Reed was from the Aniston family.”My name is Reed Aniston, nice to meet you,” Reed greeted Elaine.
”I'm Elaine Thornly, nice to meet you to,” Elaine greeted back. After seeing how dominating Reed was, Elaine easily figured that Reed wasn't a normal child. So she acted all polite and respectful not daring to offend him any bit.
”No need to be uptight Ms. Thornly, you can call me Reed.” Reed didn't want such a kind woman to be so cautious around as it made him feel guilty in a way. He didn't want Elaine to feel like she was treading on thin ice. So acted polite, not being domineering in any way.
Seeing Reed not acting superior in any way and was treating Elaine with respect, she calmed down, knowing that Reed wasn't going to harm her. ”So Reed, what reason did you come to our poor orphanage for?” Elaine was curious since people who were part of very powerful families would never come to such a place like theirs for no reason.
Hearing Elaine's question, Reed immediately cut to the chase ” I want to buy this orphanage.”
