14 The beginnings Of A New Force (1/2)
”I want to buy this orphanage.” Hearing those words shocked Elaine to her core. She just said no to Sam and what almost happened to her was getting shot in the back. It was because of Reed, she was saved. What would happen to her if she didn't agree? Would it be worst then getting shot in the back, probably.
”What do I do?” she asked herself. If she disagreed, what would happen to the kids? she loved the kids too much to see them in despair. After a few moments she came to an decision. She was willing to take a bet, she was going to fight for the kids no matter what. Even if the person in front was the son of the monstrous Aniston Family.
”What would happen to the kids if I agree? I don't care if you're the son of the Aniston Family or not, I will not sell this place if the kids won't get the treatment they deserve.” Elaine replied back in a determined voice, not willing to back down.
After hearing Elaine speak, Reed knew Elaine was mistaken with his purpose of wanting to buy the orphanage. But seeing how determined how she was, Reed couldn't help but respect her even more. He could easily tell that Elaine truly loves the kids she's taking care of.
”Ms. Thornly, you're clearly mistaken with what I intend to do with the orphanage. Reed wanted to clarify to himself as he followed up. ”With my purchase of the Gregory Orphanage, I don't intend to destroy the orphanage at all.”
Hearing that Reed wasn't intending to destroy the orphanage, Elaine was able to calm down. Hearing that Reed didn't intend to destroy the orphanage, Elaine became happy knowing that her kids will still be able to live in the Gregory Orphanage. But she knew Reed didn't just come here to but the orphanage out of good will. As nothing good comes without a price.
”It's good to hear that you plan on keeping the orphanage open, but what else are you planning to do? I know you didn't come here out of good will hearing that the orphanage is going to be closed down due to bankruptcy.”
”Your're right. My main purpose is to adopt some kids so that they can work for the Aniston Family.” Reed words clarified Elaine's suspicions. But she wasn't really surprised as she had heard some influential families adopted kids from orphanages to groom them into bodyguards or soldiers. Though hearing that the possibilities growing up to be soldiers didn't sit well with her.
Seeing the worried look on Elaine's face, Reed again spoke. ”Ms. Elaine, what chances do these kids have at being adopted? I believe less then ten percent. There are not a lot of people that would want to adopt kids. I mean, Look at the other orphanages, there has been one at least one adoption per year.
And I don't think the Gregory Orphanage had one child adopted yet this year. So I want to give the kids here unlike those at the other orphanages a chance to grow up with a purpose in life. Of course, I'll tell the kids what we plan to do to them, so you don't have to worry about the kids not knowing what they'll be going in to when they agree to joining our family.”
Elaine couldn't refute Reed one bit as everything he said was true. The Gregory orphanage hasn't even had a child adopted this year. Instead of the people adopting kids from the orphanage, the orphanage has been adopting kids from the families. If this kept on going even if one kid was adopted each year, the orphanage would then be too full to take anyone else in.
So hearing Reed willing adopt some of the kids from her orphanage, she felt a little bit of the burdenwash away. And hearing that Reed wasn't planning to trick the kids into joining their family made her even better.
”Fine, I agree.” Agreeing to Reed meant her orphanage won't shut down and the Gregory Orphanage would be Aniston property. This was good since no one would dare to offend the Aniston Family, so Elaine felt safe knowing no one would dare harm her orphanage. Another plus is the fact that the orphanage would get the support they need.
Meaning they would be able to get more daily life necessities, such as food, clothing, and a functional home to live in. This choice of her's would forever change the lives of the kids who presently live here and those who'll live here in the future.
From the start Reed never planned to buy the Gregory Orphanage but after hearing what Sam planned to do to the orphanage and seeing how the livelihoods of the kids living in the orphanage, Reed made the decision to purchase the orphanage. This choice of his will be something he will never regret as it will bring the Aniston Family a benefit they never expected to get.
Since Reed never planned to buy the Gregory Orphanage, he asked Mark to call a Aniston Representative to sign the papers to purchase the Aniston Family. This process went by quickly as both parties were able to agree beforehand, so all they needed was to have both sides to sign the papers.
In a room of the Gregory Orphanage, there was Reed, Aily, Kendall and nine other kids that were called into the room by Kendall. All of them were eight years or older, as Reed and Elaine came to an agreement that only those that eight years old or older will be asked to join the Aniston Family.
Elaine wanted them to be at least twelve years old but Reed shot that down as he then told her how long the training was and that it was best to teach them around that age, since it was the age where they would learn the best. After arguing for about ten minutes or so, Elaine conceded to Reed and agreed to his terms.
