12 The Dawn Corporation (2/2)

Seeing the gun on the floor, Reed was quickly able to comprehend what happened before hand. He was able to surmise that Sam was about to fire the gun at Elaine. This made Reed hate Same even more. Killing someone who is trying their best to protect the innocent for profit was something Reed hated.

”Shut up brat, I'm clearly speaking to the man in front of me and not you” Sam arrogantly said to Reed. Reed couldn't help but be speechless. Sam who was right in front of him, still dared to speak arrogantly even though he wasn't in the position to be so. Just how ignorant was this man?

”Mark break one his legs, so he'll know his place when he speaks to me,” Reed commanded Mark. Mark did as he was commanded as he then started walking towards Sam who was half way getting up.

Hearing the command coming from Reed, Sam knew he messed. He didn't expect the child to be in charge but now looking at what Reed was wearing. He finally understood that the man coming towards him was Reed's bodyguard.

”No, stay away from me,” Sam started panicking as he spoke and started stepping backwards, trying to get away from Mark who was incing closer with every step. But it was all futile as the moment Sam got into Mark's reaching distance. Mark then kicked Sam onto the ground once more and stepped on his leg, crushing it.

”Ahh,” Sam screamed in pain the moment he felt his leg was crushed. Sam looked at Reed with hate and yelled angrily at Reed. ” You dare order your bodyguard to break my leg, I swear to god I will surely make you regret it. ”

Hearing the threats coming from Sam, Reed couldn't help but chuckle lightly. Being threatened by a man who was already deemed dead under Reed's eyes was truly laughable. But hearing how arrogant Sam was even though he was in a such terrible situation, Reed knew Sam had someone back him.

”So how will I regret my decision?” Reed asked as he wanted to figure out what sort of entity was behind Sam. Reed knew only so much about the forces in Nova City, so he wanted to learn more from Sam.

”I know the leader of the Dawn Corporation, if I were to tell him about what happened here. You will surely die a miserable death under his hand.” Sam said with a smile. The Dawn Corporation wasn't a big as the Four Great Families, but it still has enough influence will instill into people. He was hoping Reed would become frightened hearing about his connection to the Dawn Corporation.

”The Dawn Corporation,” Reed thought silently to himself. He has heard about Dawn Corporation a few times, coming from his dad's mouth. But he only heard the words, so he didn't know much about the Dawn Corporation.

”Mark, tell me about this Dawn Corporation,” Reed asked Mark.

” The Dawn Corporation used to be a gang in the past but after years of accumulating power, they then started expanding in the business world therefore creating the Dawn Corporation. They mainly deal with construction in Nova City.” Mark replied to Reed, telling him the info about the Dawn Corporation.

”What is the level of influence?”

”Being a previous gang group, the Dawn Corporation still has many connections to the underworld. They would employ those connections as if they were their private army to do their every bidding. Many companies who were rivals with the Dawn Corporation were destroyed under that type of method.”

”That's right, the Dawn Corporation has the power to destroy other companies and still not get caught for it in the end. That shows the power they hold. So you better compensate me or else I'll tell the boss what happened and cause pandemonium to you and your family.” Sam said, interrupting the conversation between Mark and Reed.

Sam hoped that after Reed listened to what sort of power the Dawn Corporation had, Reed would become scared. And Since he Reed was a child, Sam hoped to push the fear further into Reed by threatening him. But sadly threatening Reed, was the last thing he should've done.
