Chapter 68:Won (2/2)
Jomel admits that he is not really good at using hand-to-hand combat, even though he can pretty well use his precognition. It's like an archer learning a sword technique for him. That's why when he was attacked and tackled by the jackal, he was sent reeling on the floor with his bones broken.
He can only learn a simple block and can only block using his twin sword.
Without holding a twin sword or a dual sword he always feels that he is nothing. That's pretty much tragic. He never bothered to learn it, since this is not a fantasy but real combat, he is not that much interested in learning it.
Chinese Kenpo, Karate, Kick-Boxing, and Muay Thai..?
Forget it.
Jomel is only familiar with Arnis because that's what he learned in his past life, and that's the reason why he is always holding two swords.
He is not some guy who's gonna pretend who was good at martial arts since he knew himself that he sucks at it.
What is arnis..?
Arnis, also known as Kali or Eskrima/Escrima, is the national martial art of the Philippines.
The three are roughly interchangeable umbrella terms for the traditional martial arts of the Philippines (”Filipino Martial Arts”, or FMA).
It emphasizes weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives, bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons, as well as ”open hand” techniques without weapons.
But Jomel is only proficient in using twin-sword or dual swords.
And is not proficient in knives and sticks like weapons.
Maybe two sticks will work but he is not that much interested in using it.
Since he felt swords are superior to sticks.
He learned it with very much dedicated teachers.
Luckily for him, precognition can pretty much be synchronized with it. He didn't have much time on learning about grappling or martial arts but he knew it was just an excuse. He wants to learn any of it, like grappling that Motus was proficient of but Motus is still sleeping.
Jomel tried to call it a hundred times but Motus sleeps like a stone. Because his life was on the line if he is not holding two swords. That pretty much happened earlier.
Motus was very proficient in grappling according to his description when he tamed it. Although he never witnessed it, he is sure that Motus was a master because of his past life knowledge about Honey Badger or any weasel-like family.
Jomel was regretting not learning all those bunches of stuff.
If Motus wakes up, he will ask him to teach him a thing or two.
Jomel looks at his sword who was broken into pieces but it's all for naught he couldn't move or in the future he can if he can tame a Brawler-Type creature maybe he can pretty well learn Close-Combat movements to defend himself.
But it would take a long time since he is still a level 33 Tamer.
He needs to go past over 100 levels before taming another one. A half-hour while he is healing himself, he began to stands up. He is still tired and hurting from the previous injury.
What he did first..?
He picked up his broken sword, he looked at it with sadness. This sword accompanied him for a long time maybe two years is short but he used this to survive a lot of times and now it is time for his sword to rest.
He buried it to the ground with difficulty.
And he sighs.
Since he was in the wild he needs a replacement for it. He saw the Scorpio-Spider brood mother's legs. Even though he destroyed most of it is still made of Metal-Type Soul beasts.
Suddenly he heard a Voice.
”Give me...”
