Chapter 126 - I Already Knew That. (1/2)
”Sir, Aren't you shocked...?!” LeiLei questioned in disbelief as she tilted her head.
Hecathe shook his head as he truthfully answered, ”Not really.”
LeiLei didn't look to be too happy with this answer and opened her mouth to say something but before the words could roll out of her tongue, the girl heard the man continue.
”I already knew that you were gonna pass because you're naturally impressing. Isn't that why I chose you?”
LeiLei gulped back all the words that she was about to say and her cheeks suddenly blushed red as she looked away.
The girl would certainly be lying if she said that she wasn't happy about the fact that Hecathe trusted her and believed in her abilities. It was certainly the first time in her life that she was meeting someone that had such high expectations from her.
”But why did you buy so much meat?” Hecathe asked with a small frown as he glanced down at the bag of meat, ”It's not like the two of us can finish all that. Are you planning on throwing a party for the entire city?”
”This is not for you!” The girl snapped as she pouted her lips and hugged the bag of meat close to her body.
”Then are you planning on raising dead chickens?” Hecathe asked as he tilted his head and it could be sensed that the man was merely teasing the girl because he liked seeing her reactions.
”How could you even think that?!” LeiLei questioned with a visible frown, feeling a bit offended.
The Dorgon heard all the yelling but rather than the yelling, it was the smell of fresh meat that had woken the creature up.
”Master, did you bring me food?” The Dorgon immediately jumped down from the ceiling and questioned excitedly but the excitement seemed to have died down immediately when he saw that it was LeiLei who had brought the meat.
LeiLei saw the Dorgon coming down and her eyes widened in delight as she beamed, ”This is all for Eggy!~”
Hecathe, ”...”
Hecathe was the one who had saved the girl from the gambling den and brought her all the way to the golden fire guild but the girl was happier to treat the Dorgon that hated her... This was more than enough to make Hecathe feel a little betrayed and speechless.
”Master, she looks too happy... I think she poisoned the meat,” The Dorgon whispered, feeling suspicious of the girl.
”Eggy says he's not hungry,” Hecathe shrugged his shoulders as he lied with an honest face.
”I never said that!” The Dorgon exclaimed, feeling anxious as he looked between the meat and Hecathe, ”Master, I'll eat it! I'll eat it! I have a strong stomach so poison can't affect me!”
Since LeiLei couldn't hear the Dorgon, it was only natural that she believed Hecathe.
”Is that so?” The girl suddenly got dejected as she muttered, looking down in disbelief.
”Master, do something! Tell her that you lied! I'll eat it! My stomach is always free!”
”I guess we'll just feed it to him tomorrow then,” LeiLei spoke softly as she shook her head.
Hecathe couldn't help but snicker a little as he heard both the sides and felt as if his small revenge was already complete.
”I was just kidding,” Hecathe coughed as he controlled his expressions and spoke, ”Eggy is happy to see that you thought about him.”
LeiLei's face immediately lit up as she heard this and the Dorgon also sighed in relief.
”Eggy, I knew you'd love it!~” The girl immediately beamed and Hecathe could almost see the reflected light forming two stars in her big innocent eyes that made her appear very child-like and delighted.
”Tch-” The Dorgon clicked his tongue, but thankfully enough, the girl was a clueless one who couldn't understand that the Dorgon hated her.
LeiLei immediately went towards the side and pulled out a large feeding bowl from the shelf and opened the meat to serve it for Eggy.
Although the Dorgon had clicked his tongue in annoyance and hated the girl, when he saw her taking out the fresh meat, he wagged his tail around, almost looking as if he was suddenly a dog.
”Eggy, come here and ea-” The girl didn't even need to finish her words as the dorgon jumped forward and started munching down all the meat with the bones intact.
Dorgon teeth were more than strong enough to crush bones so it was really not hard for Eggy to eat the meat with the bones intact.
LeiLei smiled in satisfaction as she lifted her hand to pet the Dorgon's head and shockingly enough, this time, the Dorgon allowed the girl to touch him without growling or snarling at her.
