Chapter 105 - Heavens Are Certainly Laughing (2/2)
Hecathe sighed as he rubbed his forehead, feeling as if he was going to be having a headache pretty soon.
The man headed inside the building and went straight for his room, not remembering anything about the cardigan girl that he had hired.
However, it seemed that there was another headache waiting for him inside his room.
”Master, save me!” As soon as Hecathe opened the door, A large dog-sized Dorgon child jumped on him and almost made him fall back.
”You're freaking heavy!” Hecathe complained as he immediately dropped the Dorgon and the Dorgon scurried off towards the side before running back towards Hecathe and hiding behind him, using him as a shield.
”What the-” Hecathe was shocked and confused at the creature's odd reaction, however, when he raised his head and looked at the girl who was standing inside the room with a bright smile on her face, he immediately figured out why the Dorgon was acting like this.
”Didn't I tell you to not go into my room?” Hecathe frowned and didn't look to be amused as he questioned the girl.
The girl pouted as she heard this and tried to act innocent as she spoke, ”You said that but the landlady kept insisting that I wait for you in your room.”
Hecathe felt as if he should've expected something like this to happen.
”Master, you know this evil witch...?!” The Dorgon questioned and he certainly sounded terrified at the moment which made Hecathe wonder what the girl had done to him.
”Did she bully you?” Hecathe asked curiously, feeling a bit surprised at the mere thought of this little girl bullying such a creature that could kill her at any given moment.
”Sir, believe me! I did nothing wrong! I just wanted to play with your cute little pet!” The girl defended herself before the Dorgon could even say anything as a response, ”But it keeps running away.”
Hecathe's eyes narrowed down on the girl as he heard this and he questioned with suspicion, ”You can hear him?”
”Eh?” The girl tilted her head in confusion as she heard this question and blinked a few times before shaking her head as she spoke, ”I can't, but you looked as if you could.”
Hecathe didn't seem to have believed the girl completely so he turned to glance at the Dorgon and questioned again, ”Can she talk to you?”
”Of course, she can't! If this dumb potato could understand me, she wouldn't have been so persistent to pet the great emperor!”
”She tried to pet you?” Hecathe was even more surprised as he snapped his head back up to look at the girl.
The girl pouted as she avoided meeting Hecathe's eyes and muttered softly, ”I tried to pet it because it's cute...”
This girl was really full of surprises and when Hecathe managed to hear the girl's comment, he looked down and seemed to be judging the Dorgon in his head.
How can such a thing be... Cute...?!
Was this girl really alright in the head?!
Hecathe sighed as he pushed the Dorgon inside using his leg and closed the door behind him before walking towards a table and leisurely taking off his cloak before he took a seat down on the bed and crossed his right leg over his left.
His eyes narrowed down on the girl and it seemed to have made her feel a little uneasy.
The Dorgon squeezed under the bed and hid from the girl once again, using Hecathe as a barrier to keep her away.
”Do you know what creature he is?” Hecathe questioned in suspicion and the girl gulped as she nodded her head.
”Of course, I know.”
”You know?” Hecathe raised his eyebrows and looked as if he found it hard to believe her.
”Then tell me, what is he?” Hecathe asked with a small smile on his face that seemed to be teasing her.
”He's one of those overgrown old lizards!” The girl confidently exclaimed.
”...”
”Master, can I kill her?” The Dorgon questioned and this time, he seriously sounded offended and there was no more fear in his voice.
Hecathe was speechless for few minutes as he slowly let her words sink in and when he was finally over the shock, he broke out laughing.
The girl crossed her arms over each other and frowned as she saw the man laughing at her, ”Why are you laughing like that? Am I wrong?”
Hecathe shook his head as he continued to laugh and spoke in between his laughter, ”You're right! You're right! It is an overgrown lizard!~”
The overgrown Lizard, ”...”
