Chapter 105 - Heavens Are Certainly Laughing (1/2)

Hecathe chuckled as he heard this ridiculous question.

Of course, he wouldn't easily forgive the boy for that!

But would he give an honest answer to that question? Certainly not!

”I forgave you a long time ago,” Hecathe lied through an honest face.

Marvin looked to have stupidly believed it as he first showed a stunned expression which slowly turned into a pleased one.

”You did...? You really did?” Marvin almost looked as if he was about to shed tears of happiness and this made Hecathe's face cringe up in disgust.

Hecathe pursed his lips into a thin smile and tried his best to control his twitching eyes as he lied once again, ”Of course, I did. You were also forced to shoot me. You were confused and afraid. After hearing such news about your father, it's only natural that you were mad.”

Marvin gulped as he suddenly moved forward and hugged Hecathe, ”Thank you so much!”

Hecathe felt the strong smell of sweat and alcohol enter his nose and it automatically made him gag in disgust.

In the very next moment, Hecathe's body reacted on its own and he pushed the boy away as he spoke, ”I would prefer it if you didn't show your gratitude in such a manner. Especially when you're this drunk.”

Or I might kill you by mistake next time.

Hecathe grinned and although there was no joy behind that grin, Marvin, with his half-working brain, seemed to have thought differently.

Marvin nodded his head in understanding and looked like a little child as he listened to Hecathe.

”Now let's get your ass home,” Hecathe sighed as he rubbed his forehead, ”Where do you live?”

Marvin gulped as he heard this and looked around before he shook his head, ”I can get back on my own.”

”You can?” Hecathe nodded his head and didn't even wait for a response as he spoke, ”Then that would be great. I am tired and I have a pet to feed at home so let's continue this conversation tomorrow. Good night and get home safely.”

Hecathe certainly sounded really enthusiastic as he tried to get rid of this boy and the boy innocently nodded his head as a response.

Hecathe didn't bother wasting any more time on this drunk boy and headed straight back to his apartment, however, for some reason, Marvin seemed to be following him.

At first, Hecathe wanted to turn around and ask the boy why he was following him, but in the end, Hecathe ended up simply sighing as he tried his best to ignore Marvin.

He thought that the boy would eventually get bored of it and finally leave Hecathe alone, but it seemed that he had miscalculated a bit.

By the time Hecathe was standing in front of the old broken apartment, Marvin was also there standing right behind him.

This boy really followed him all the way home...

Hecathe clicked his tongue as he turned around and glare at the man, ”What is it? Why are you following me? As you can see, this isn't your house.”

”...” Marvin blinked in confusion as he stared back at Hecathe and Hecathe's eyebrows creased together as he saw the confusion on the boy's face.

”What is it?” Hecathe asked with a frown and Marvin simply shook his head which made Hecathe wonder if this boy had hit his head somewhere after drinking so much.

”What? Are you going to tell me that you live here as well?” Hecathe scoffed as he sarcastically questioned, however, he wasn't even able to laugh at it as he saw Marvin nodding his head.

”...”

Hecathe suddenly didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry at this moment.

Was it really that impossible to escape from the hero...?!

Were the heavens really joking around with Hecathe or something?!

Marvin smiled thinly as he bowed his head politely and went inside the building first, leaving behind a speechless Hecathe who looked at the apartment in disbelief.

There were only three tenants living in this building...

One was Hecathe, the other was Zail and the third was a hunter who was said to be alike Hecathe...

Hecathe could have never guessed that he had such a surprise kept in store for him...

Both Marvin and Hecathe ended up choosing the same apartment by chance... And Hecathe was sure it was a coincidence because he knew Marvin had moved in here before Hecathe so there was no way he had chosen this particular apartment because of Hecathe and if Hecathe had already known that Marvin was living here, he would have never chosen this place...!!

The heavens were really laughing at Hecathe, weren't they?!
