Chapter 102 - A Lot Of Shouting (2/2)
Hecathe had gotten so comfortable in this new body that he sometimes seriously forgot that this body belonged to a teenager.
A sudden thought came to his mind and although it was completely unrelated to the current topic, Hecathe still felt a bit weird as he imagined it.
He had threatened a lot of people today... So did they all see a teenager and get threatened by him...?!
When Hecathe thought about this, he couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed and offended for the people whom he had threatened. Most of them were grown adults who had been scared and intimidated by a mere teenager... If Hecathe was in their shoes then he would also have been embarrassed by himself.
”We are more alike... We are too alike! You agreed to that as well,” Raven frowned as he added and Hecathe sighed as he heard this.
The man suddenly understood exactly why Raven had been so interested in him.
A seventeen-year-old who went around acting as if he was older and wiser than anyone that he met... Even Hecathe would have found himself being interested to know more about such a weird kid.
Hecathe sighed as he responded, trying to hide his embarrassment, ”I understand. We are alike. Let's go now. Stop creating a scene here.”
Raven frowned as he heard this but when he looked around and saw all the people that were staring at them, he nodded his head as he agreed to Hecathe, ”Let's go.”
For a second there, the boy sounded as if he had suddenly sobered up.
They were first supposed to report to Kelly before heading home, but when Hecathe saw Raven straightaway heading for the door, he understood that it had to be an illusion to think that the boy had sobered up.
Hecathe let out a breath of relief as he glanced at the reception and nodded as if trying to inform the person working there that he was going to be heading home now. Hecathe was sure that the receptionist would definitely relay this message to Kelly.
Raven left the place first and Hecathe neatly straightened out the paper that had previously been folded into a boat before he kept the paper back in the file and followed after Raven.
”Oi!” Hecathe coughed before he called out to the boy but Raven acted as if he had suddenly turned deaf which made Hecathe frown.
”You're ignoring me?” Hecathe questioned and was once again ignored by the boy.
Hecathe sighed as he tried his best not to get angry and with a calm mind, he did something that he never thought he would be doing.
He actually bothered to apologize...!
”It was my fault, I'm sorry.”
Raven suddenly stopped on his tracks and since the boy was facing his back towards Hecathe, the man had no idea what expression Raven had on his face as he stopped.
Hecathe came to a stop as well and put his hands in his pockets as he simply waited for Raven to do or say something.
”You hate me, don't you?” Raven asked softly and the question was so out of the blue that Hecathe was stunned speechless for a whole minute as he repeated the question in his mind.
”What makes you say tha-”
”You do hate me. It's as clear as day,” Raven suddenly cut Hecathe's words short as he stated.
”Huh?” Hecathe's eyebrows creased together as he heard this and he couldn't understand what Raven was thinking as he said this.
Hecathe pursed his lips and nodded his head as he simply accepted it after a minute, ”You're right... But wrong as well. I don't like you but I don't hate you either.”
”Then, is it indifference?” Raven asked without bothering to turn around.
Hecathe sighed as he heard this question and responded, ”That's not it either. I would agree that I do dislike you for some reason. Don't bother asking why because I also don't know what exactly it is.”
”Eh?”
”It wasn't anything you particularly did that made me dislike you, but for some reason, I can't help but feel as if we were simply not meant to get along well with each other.”
”So it can't be helped... That's what you're saying?” Raven asked softly and Hecathe suddenly felt as if he shouldn't be this honest to the boy, however, in the end, he still ended up being honest to him.
