Chapter 101 - Threatening People Is Tiring (1/2)

Hecathe was certainly doing a good job but it was all just for show.

After he was done interviewing the suspects, he would keep his file aside and would threaten them and intimidate them to change their answers and it seemed as if Hecathe was pretty good at this job. Almost all of them were easily threatened by Hecathe and if someone was suspicious or refused to agree to the man, Hecathe would call the mutants and use a different method of threatening.

The mutants were much more effective than him and simply seeing a mutant ready to chomp down their heads would get everyone and anyone to agree to Hecathe.

They would shake and shiver in fear as Hecathe spoke and in the end, they would nod their heads as they agreed.

Although it looked as if Hecathe had done a good job in noting down all their answers, there was one simple thing that he had done and it was something that he was not supposed to do.

Hecathe was supposed to note down their answers without altering them, however, although the man had acted as if he was writing down the answers they gave, what he was really doing was simply copying down the same story of how everyone saw Orgon coming back to life and walking around in the body of a young man who wore a purple cloak.

Kelly was certainly going to be frustrated once she receives these answers, however, that didn't worry Hecathe in the least.

If there was something that Hecathe worried about, it would be Raven.

That man had also taken a sheet with him and since he had no idea what Hecathe was trying to do, he was surely going to note down the real answers and give them to Kelly.

Kelly was a smart woman and once she notices that all the answers recorded by Hecathe were the same while the answers recorded by Raven were completely different, it wouldn't take her long to realize that there was something up.

She was already not trusting Hecathe a hundred percent at this moment and it was only natural that she didn't since they hadn't really gotten off the right foot. Once she finds out that Hecathe had purposefully tried to change the answers, she would surely do her own little search, and that worried Hecathe a bit.

Only a little because Hecathe already had a backup plan for that as well.

A plan through which Kelly would never get the chance to be suspicious of Hecathe.

Hecathe planned on changing the sheet that he had given to Raven. If he was successful, Kelly was never going to find out, but Raven who was the one noting down the answers would naturally know that Hecathe had switched the sheet.

This was worrying, however, Hecathe was sure that this was not really going to be a problem considering the fact that Raven was not a man who liked to pick sides.

At this moment, he seemed to be interested to know about Hecathe and his plan so even if the man knew that Hecathe had switched out the papes, he would surely not do anything nor would he say anything to call Hecathe out for it.

It took Hecathe more than a few hours to complete the list and threaten everyone. By the time he was done, it was already pretty dark and the sun had long drowned in the horizon.

Instead of heading straight back to his apartment, Hecathe headed to the guild where he had agreed to meet up with Raven who would also be coming here after he is done with his work.

Once Hecathe opened the door of the guild, his nose was abused by the strong stinge of alcohol and sweat which made his face cringe up with a bit of disgust.

It seemed that it didn't matter if it was day or night. This guild was always like this. A pub that ran all day and night long.

Hecathe tried to make his way to the main reception desk in hopes of asking if Raven was here yet or not, but the man couldn't even make it to the desk as he was suddenly obstructed by an octopus that had its tentacles tightly wrapped around Hecathe from the back.

Hecathe didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry but if there was one thing he knew, it would be the fact that he suddenly had this strong desire to punch an octopus.

”Get your drunk tentacles off of me,” Hecathe glanced back and glared at the man called Raven.

”Hehe...” The man looked drunk and this was no acting.

”Do you want me to repeat myself?” Hecathe's voice sounded low and deep. If Raven wasn't drunk right now then he would have certainly been at least a little intimidated by hearing that voice, however, the man was super drunk, and ever after hearing this, he didn't let go of Hecathe and simply chuckled as if he was suddenly amused by this unamused reaction.

Hecathe scoffed as he saw this and he clenched his fist as he tried his best not to let his anger take control over his actions.
