Chapter 401 - We Will Only Have Each Other (1/2)

The house was still brightly lit when Zhang Yu Han returned. He glanced at his wristwatch and frowned knowing that his wife and daughter should be in bed at a time like this. Worried, he walked into the house with a bouquet in his hand. A sigh of relief escaped him once he found that his wife in the living room, with the television on.

The door shut loudly as he accidentally released it, causing his wife to startle.

Li Qin Yao woke up from her slumber and quickly sat up in a panic. She turned to the door with her hand rubbing at her eyes. Once she was able to see her husband clearly, her lips then curled into a smile.

”You're back.”

”Why are you not sleeping in the room?” A frown appeared on Zhang Yu Han's face as he watched his sleepy wife. She was dressed thinly with only her pajama and he was suddenly worried that she would catch a cold.

”I wanted to wait for you,” Li Qin Yao said. She went over to his side and quickly wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his ċhėst.

”Sorry. The dinner with Qi Ming Wei and the others lasted longer than I expected.”

Seeing the way his wife had acted, Zhang Yu Han found that he could not say scold her. He patted at her head a few times and pulled away only to hand her a small bouquet of her favorite Casablanca.

It was then that she realized that her husband had been holding the flower bouquet as he stepped into the house.

Li Qin Yao took a sniff at the flower before she looked up at her husband. ”What is this for? What's the occasion.”

”There's a florist just across the road.” A smile curled on his lips. ”Then I thought... I still need to hard to woo my wife.”

Zhang Yu Han's speech from their early marriage appeared on her mind—that they need to continuously work hard for their relationship so that their love will only grow. The smile on her lips widened. She tiptoed and linked one arm on his neck to kiss his cheek.

”Thank you. I like it.”

He followed his wife into the kitchen and watched as she took out a vase to put the flower in.

”Do you want something to eat?” Li Qin Yao asked as she turned around. ”I can whip something or reheat some leftover.”

”No. I'm still full.”

Now that the television was switched off, Zhang Yu Han found that the house was a bit quiet.

”Li Xue had slept?” Zhang Yu Han asked as he pulled at his necktie.

”En. Almost an hour ago.”

He then retracted his gaze and paused when he saw the toddler size basketball hoop that he had bought for her daughter a month ago. He had noticed how their little princess was interested in the game and thought that she would enjoy playing them.

”Hubby, I think Li Xue did not like them,” Li Qin Yao spoke. She put the vase of flower on the table and followed his gaze.

”Why wouldn't she like it? Didn't she said she liked basketball?”
