Chapter 381 - Youre Under Arrest (1/2)
Li Mu Chen did not know what was happening.
She had returned from the club early in the morning and found that her father stood at the entrance in his uniform. She was immediately sober as her father dragged her inside her room and had asked a few of his subordinates to look after her.
Immediately, her face paled. Li Mu Chen was always afraid of her father and could not understand why was he treating her this way. Li Mu Chen tried to open the door and found that she was locked from the outside. She banged her fist on the door a few times and stopped once her father appeared at the door.
Li Mu Chen took a step back when her father entered. ”D-dad?” Her voice trembled. ”What's going on? Why do you want to lock me in?”
Li Jing walked over the study and pulled a chair. He sat down and stared at his daughter with a piercing gaze. ”Mu Chen, do you have something you wanted to tell me?”
”What are you talking about? Dad?” Li Mu Chen shivered under her father's stare.
”Are you not going to tell me what you have done this recently?”
A thought flashed in her mind and Li Mu Chen wondered if her father had found out that she had swapped the original documents for the project in B City to frame her cousin.
How did he know? Who told him?
However, even if she had done it, there was no way that she would confess. Li Mu Chen was aware of how fierce her father can be when he was angered. Now that her mother was not by her side, she will have no one to protect her.
Li Jing tapped his finger on the table. The silence in the room lasted for two minutes and Li Mu Chen could feel the sweat on her back as the silence goes on.
”Alright,” Li Jing suddenly stood up. ”I gave you a chance and you did not take it. Then you stay in this room and we will talk again in the morning.”
Seeing that her father had left the room without saying more, Li Mu Chen started to panic. Just before she could say a word, the door was slammed on her face.
Li Mu Chen frowned at the thought that her misdeed was exposed. She went to find her phone to check on the news online and realized that her phone was outside. Earlier, her father had pulled her into the house and her bag had fallen in the living room. Li Mu Chen then rummaged into her wardrobe and found her ŀȧptop. However, it seemed that the internet connection in the house was pulled out and she could not connect to the wifi.
It was only after her Auntie Han had unlocked her door that Li Mu Chen was awake. Her head was throbbing and she was irritated at the sudden interruption. Just as she was about to lash on the Auntie, two policemen stood at the door, waving their badge.
”Li Mu Chen,” the policeman took out his handcuff. ”You are under arrest.”
Li Mu Chen stared back at the policemen with a confused look on her face as he continued to read her rights.
…
After spending her time in the station for more than five hours, Li Mu Chen was starting to get irritated. She was sweaty and uncomfortable. Her makeup was messy and her hair had turned into a bird's nest. She was hauled behind bars the moment she arrived and had tried to talk to the police to let them call her brother. However, none of the police gave her any attention.
