Chapter 270 - How to Eat a Cupcake (1/2)

Once Zhang Yu Han had entered the bathroom to shower, Li Qin Yao hurriedly went into the kitchen and took out the cupcakes from the oven and started to decorate them with the frosting that she had prepared earlier.

Fortunately, she only needed to frost only one of those cupcakes. Since it did not take a long time, Li Qin Yao quickly hid the cake back in the fridge before he came out of the shower.

When Zhang Yu Han came out of the room, he found that his wife was sitting on the carpeted floor in the living room with the television on and a ŀȧptop on the coffee table. It seemed as if she was looking at some documents while watching some fugitive movie. He slid to sit down on the sofa behind her and reached his hand to massage her neck and shoulders.

Feeling his touch, Li Qin Yao let out a sigh as she leaned back. ”Hubby, you're the best.”

Zhang Yu Han chuckled at her compliment. He peered at her ŀȧptop and asked, ”You're busy?”

”Hmm… there are a few documents I need to review first.” She leaned her head on the sofa, just between his knees and looked up at him. ”Right. Zhang Yu Han, will you accompany me to LUX Group dinner banquet next week? It's next Wednesday.”

Zhang Yu Han readily agreed. ”Sure. Remind me of the date and time later.”

”Mom called today,” Li Qin Yao continued. ”She said that our parents are going to meet and have dinner this weekend. They're going to discuss our wedding banquet.”

”Alright,” he nodded again. ”Speaking of the wedding, we haven't had our wedding photos yet. Let's take a day off someday and shoot.”

”Oh,” Li Qin Yao looked at her ŀȧptop again and paused when she recalled something. ”I still haven't chosen a wedding dress.”

”Hmm… let's take a day off to choose one later. We'll discuss this with them this weekend.”

Suddenly, he wondered how his wife was going to look in her wedding dress. His eyes darkened at the thought that his wife was going to wear an open back dress like the one she had worn previously.

Zhang Yu Han sighed at the thought that he hasn't prepared a lot of things. Fortunately, his mother had returned from Country C. Knowing his mother, Zhang Yu Han knew that he can rely on her to help him with the preparation.

As the thought came to his mind, Zhang Yu Han stood up and headed to the study to organize his timetable.

Seeing that her husband had walked into the study, Li Qin Yao heaved a sigh in relief. She did not know how she was going to pull that surprise if Zhang Yu Han had chosen to stay in the living room to accompany her.

Li Qin Yao glanced at the clock and noted that there was around half an hour before the clock struck twelve. Although she was supposed to review some documents, Li Qin Yao could not help glancing at the clock every ten seconds as she did not want to miss her timing.

Finally, there were two minutes left before twelve. Li Qin Yao glanced at the study and smiled as she noticed that the door was still shut. Stealthily, she walked into the guest room and pulled out the present she bought for him. Then, she walked into the kitchen and took out the cupcake from the fridge.

Li Qin Yao glanced at the clock again and lit the candle at the center of the cupcake. Then, she walked towards his office and knocked.

Just as she heard Zhang Yu Han's voice from the inside, Li Qin Yao pushed the door and started to sing him a happy birthday song. Seeing the surprised look on his face, the smile on Li Qin Yao's face grew wide.

Li Qin Yao stopped just in front of Zhang Yu Han as the song ended. She tiptoed to kiss his cheek and said, ”Zhang Yu Han, happy birthday. Come. Make a wish and blow the candle.”

Zhang Yu Han bent down to blow the candle. ”When did you prepare this?”

”Hmm… I came back earlier today to prepare this.”

”You baked this?” Zhang Yu Han watched her nodded. ”So that was why you were acting suspicious and sneaky today.”
