Chapter 263 - Truly a Softie (1/2)
When Li Qin Yao woke up late that morning, Zhang Yu Han has long left the hotel room with his ȧssistant for some work matters. Seeing that it was almost lunch hours and her husband won't be able to return to eat with her, Li Qin Yao decided to find her friend, Han Yue Xiu in her new office and have their lunch together.
When she arrived in the lobby, the security guard passed her a pass and Li Qin Yao rode the elevator to find her friend. Once she reached her floor, a bespectacled man led her to Han Yue Xiu's office and Li Qin Yao knocked on the door a few times.
The moment Li Qin Yao pushed the door open, Han Yue Xiu jumped off from her seat and leaped forward to hug her.
”You're here!”
Li Qin Yao laughed at her enthusiasm before she looked around Han Yue Xiu's room. On her desk, there were a few computer screens and Li Qin Yao was sure that she did not know what are some of the machines around there. Looking at those machines, Li Qin Yao was sure that they are a bunch of expensive equipment.
”Your office looks much spacious than mine,” Li Qin Yao suddenly said with a sigh.
Han Yue Xiu laughed as she grabbed her purse. ”Come on. Let's go for lunch. Since I just got my first payment last week, it will be my treat this time.” She put her arms around Li Qin Yao's shoulder and continued, ”Tell me what you want to eat.”
The two of them headed to the exit and paused when they ran into a tall woman in sunglasses.
Li Qin Yao raised her brows when she noticed the way that woman was giving both of them a look over. Soon, the woman sneered at Li Qin Yao before she turned to Han Yue Xiu.
”Miss Han,” the woman smiled.
”Miss Fang, if you're looking for Song Yi, just walk straight and you will see his office on your left side,” Han Yue Xiu said. ”I'm sorry. I don't have any plans to stay around with you and play. Excuse me.”
The smile on Fang Meng Ran's face stiffened. Though she wanted to say something to Han Yue Xiu, she found that she was unable to say a word. Anyway, this was not the first time that Han Yue Xiu had acted coldly towards her.
Each time the two of them had an encounter, Han Yue Xiu made it no secret that she did not want to waste her time with Fang Meng Ran, giving her no chance to say something that might annoy her.
”Who was that?” Li Qin Yao asked when the two of them entered the elevator.
”Who else? That was Fang Meng Ran,” Han Yue Xiu said. ”She was Song Yi's rumored fiancee. After he told his parents that he did not want anything to do with her, that woman has been coming over the office to harass me.”
Li Qin Yao chose not to ask further on the matter as she knew how much Han Yue Xiu did not like talking about her and Song Yi's personal matter.
Right now, Han Yue Xiu's relationship with Song Yi was nothing more than a business partner. According to Han Yue Xiu, these days, Song Yi had stopped trying to force her into a relationship with him.
The two friends entered a restaurant and soon had their lunch together as they chatted.
Just like everyone else, Han Yue Xiu was upset at the beginning upon finding out that her best friend was in trouble and she could not do anything to help her.
