184 Chapter 184: Beginning (1/2)
Hazel opened and closed her mouth like a fish as she gaped at Usui. She recovered her stance and hit his chest as she hissed, ”You were pretending?”
Usui shrugged nonchalantly making Hazel sigh.
”How else would I get you alone?”
Hazel glared at him helplessly, ”Why are you such a kid?”
Her heart thundered in her chest as she glanced at their proximity. Their chests were almost touching, his hands formed a barrier around her effectively trapping her. If she leaned a little forward, she could breathe in his scent.
Hazel bit her lips as she plastered her body against the door and glance at him. She couldn't help but admit that she did miss this shameless side of his.
She peered into his eyes and smiled softly making the insides of Usui squirm. His eyes darkened as he moved closer halting Hazel's breath.
Usui smiled as he softly knocked his forehead against hers and sighed. Hazel remained immobile for some seconds till she heard him sigh.
He asked in a low husky voice, ”Are you real, Freya?”
A shiver went down her spine alerting Hazel from her stupor. His voice made her heart dance as something deep formed inside her body.
Usui slowly removed his hand from the door and moved it under her chin. Pulling her chin up, he gulped as he mumbled, ”I can't believe it”
Hazel knitted her brows as she mumbled, ”What can't you believe?”
Usui sighed looking at her dark emerald eyes. He could stare into her eyes and be lost in them forever. Her eyes reflected his face making him smile a little.
”I can't believe that you are standing here in front of me.”
Hazel tilted her head and raised her eyebrow in confusion.
Sighing he murmured, ” I feel like I'm in a dream. The most beautiful dream ever.”
Then he looked at her and said, ”If this is a dream, I wouldn't want to wake up ever.”
Hazel let out a soft laugh as she stretched her hands to pinch his cheeks.
”But I would want you to wake up” Her eyes glistened as she smiled, ”I would want you to face the reality and not escape to dreams.”
Her hands trailed down to his hands and intertwined them. She stared at their hands making Usui follow her gaze. He felt her squeeze his hand slightly and say, ”After all, you could only feel our warmth in reality.”
Usui chuckled as he nodded, ”True”
Her eyes moved towards their hands once again and gazed at them longingly. He furrowed his brows as he asked softly, ”What is it?”
Hazel bit her lips as she pouted, ”I missed you”
Usui's heart skipped a beat before it roared inside his chest. His throat was parched and his eyes darkened as he moved closer to her. Now, their chests were touching while their noses brushed against each other, ”I missed you too”
Usui hugged her as if his whole life depended on her. He thought he was dreaming when he heard voices while asleep. He felt like his hands were being grasped or her soft voice murmuring something to him. He wasn't sure whether it was an illusion or reality.
But then slowly, his consciousness became clearer as he could hear the voices more clearly. The first thing he heard was about Freya being in danger. Albeit, knowing that she could handle the battle well, he couldn't rest easy knowing that something bad could happen. His body began fighting against the unending sleep and finally managed to wake up.
As soon as he regained consciousness, he stumbled his way through the corridor to the only exit. Slowly, his feet began to pick up the pace, and eventually, he ran past his mom and aunt who were shocked to their root.
His heart only calmed down when he saw her fighting against people in her mighty splendor. Knowing that she was okay, made him sigh in relief but quickly his aura changed when he saw an eyesore targeting his woman.
He didn't know how Black Thunder was present in his hand, he didn't know how he moved past everyone smoothly and arrived right in time to block his attack. He didn't care whether the words she uttered was a dream or not.
He only wanted her to be safe and happy.
Yet, when she turned around with tears streaming down her cheeks, all his previous words went down to drain. How could he survive knowing that she is happy with someone else?
Knowing that someone other than him is making her happy.
When Usui saw the happiness and pain flashing past her emerald eyes, all of his doubts vanished. She was the only one who could make him restless, make him go crazy with her actions, make him frustrated, and yet, she doesn't know the power she had over him.
