Usui snorted as he displayed a disgusted look, ”Who else should I blame if not you?”

”You trained day and night, to be the chief of your clan and yet, you can't refute a mere Elder.”

Spiros grumbled, ”He was my sister's master”

Usui raised an eyebrow, ”A master who wanted to kill his student's son.”

Spiros pouted looking aggrieved by his accusations.

”How was I to know he would jump ships?”

Usui narrowed his eyes as he moved closer and flicked his forehead.

”Didn't I always tell you not to trust everyone?”

Spiros grumbled as he rubbed his forehead, ”Alright... alright”

Usui shook his head at his so-called friend who was gullible from the time they had met each other. They met in the most awkward situation and from then on, they have always kept in contact.

No...cut that out, Spiros shamelessly clung onto him. Slowly, Usui got used to his annoying presence and became a little open towards him. Usui had always been curious about where this guy popped from.

It was through him, he came to learn about the Guardians race. He was highly intrigued when he learned that Spiros could control time. He even was impressed with the way Spiros used his magic in his fighting.

He had helped Spiros defeat his brother for the Chief position when he broke down into tears. He mumbled something about protecting his sister.

Usui couldn't see the guy crying his heart out for his beloved sister. Even though Spiros was annoying at first, after so many years, Usui had developed a certain bond with Spiros.

Years passed and this guy still hasn't changed his gullible character. Usui rubbed his forehead in worry when he heard a voice asking, ”Do you know him?”

A smile broke through Usui's cold face surprising Spiros. His eyes immediately went to Hazel who was standing beside Usui, gazing at him worriedly. To be honest, Spiros was shaken when he saw Usui caress her cheeks.

He never thought Usui had it in him to love someone. But he was glad, that his brother finally found a person to whom he could open his heart.

Usui turned around with a huge smile on his face and nodded gently. Hazel's cheeks flushed as she quickly turned her face away from him. Her heart had been beating rapidly from the moment he appeared before her.

She was astonished at her reaction. She was acting like a shy girl meeting her first love. She had always thought of herself as an emotionless person but he proved it wrong.

She always thought that she would be alone in this world but somehow he managed to barge into her heart, breaking all the barriers around her heart and made a place inside her heart.

Usui chuckled softly but threw an irritated glance at Spiros who was nudging him.

Pointing at Spiros, he spat annoyedly, ”He is an idiot... an annoying one in that.”

Usui rolled his eyes as he snatched his hand back and asked, ”What best friend?”

Spiros clutched his chest and said with his eyes bulging, ”You can't throw me away after our decades of friendship”

Usui looked at him and snorted, ”Why can I only remember someone annoying the crap out of me?!”

Spiros shrugged, ”You should be lucky that you at least had me around you or you would have died of boredom.”

”I would rather be bored than deal with your chattering.”

Hazel watched amusedly at the two's banter and couldn't help but chuckle. Hearing her chuckle, the boys stopped and turned towards her who immediately covered her mouth.

Usui smiled gently as he moved closer to her and whispered, ”Is it too funny?”

Hazel nodded making his smile grow wider.

”Should I make you blush?”

Hazel widened her eyes as it darted to Spiros who was gaping at Usui. She hit his chest embarrassedly making him laugh quietly near her ears.

Hazel pursed her lips to show her displeasure but her eyes gave her away. Her emerald eyes were shining in mirth making Spiros shake his head at the two lovers.

Suddenly she heard a groan above her head and hurriedly looked at Usui who was furrowing his brows. Anxiously, she held him and asked, ”Are you okay?”

What happened? He was perfectly fine some minutes ago. Was it the demon thing again?

Usui pursed his lips when he saw the worry and anxiety in her eyes. He nodded stiffly, ”No...I'm in pain”

Hazel's eyes grew big as she hurriedly checked him, ”Where? Is the demon harming you again?”

Usui smiled gently when he saw her anxiousness. He knew he was a jerk for making her worry about him but he couldn't believe it.

That this beautiful woman loved him... worried about him.

Seeing the frown on her face grow deeper, he quickly pointed at his heart and said, ”Here”

He saw her face froze as she stared at his heart. Narrowing her eyes, Hazel sharply looked at him and saw the smile on his face.

”Shameless” and this time she hit his chest a little hard making him yelp.

'Hmph!'

She grabbed Rin from his hands and turned around to leave. She couldn't help but smile widely when she heard his laughter behind.
