Chapter 39 - A New Journey (2/2)
The flag was lined up with gold thread, with the main symbol upon it a huge flame lion with a pair of wings on its back. Two huge letters were inscribed below the Lion-, Djage Empire.
As for the four Imperial Knights that were waiting for him in front of the gate. Each of them wore gold armor and a fine red robe and were heavily armed.
There were three middle-aged men and one woman. Shad estimated that each of them was at least an early 6th rank warrior. Furthermore, he was surprised to see the woman because she was none other than the woman that was protecting him in secret while he was training in the mountain not too far from the Imperial capital. The knights weren't chosen by Shad but by his Imperial father, as such, he had no idea who they were.
Right behind the four imperial knights was a large and luxurious horse carriage, pulled by eight fine horses. The driver of that carriage was a ferocious looking warrior clad in black full heavy armor. That warrior sat there on the driver seat and held the reins with both of his hands waiting for the 4th prince to get in.
Behind the massive horse carriage, there at least a hundred soldiers in full black heavy armor as well, sitting upon a warhorse each of them. Those soldiers gave off a bloodthirsty aura as though they had been fighting in the battle field all their lives. Most of them had scars all over their faces.
As Shad Looked upon the imposing sight before him, he couldn't help to praise his empire. The djage empire was powerful indeed and was worthy to be one of the four overlords of the Egul continent. Looking at those massive spikes maces, immense battle axes, and longswords, Shad knew that all those soldiers had real battle experience and were not to be trifled with. Despite wearing clean clothes, their bodies still reeked with the scent of blood.
Nonetheless, Shad still did not get too overconfident because of this envoy because he knew that the Djage empire was not the strongest of the four empires, and each of the empires had forces similar to his empire or even more.
Aside from that, he knew that the trip to the Mulan kingdom wasn't going to be an easy one despite having such forces accompanied him. There were plenty of people who wished him to fail, and plenty of other more that will try to stop him before he could even get there, not to mention some other invisible enemies that he wasn't aware of.
Taking a deep breath, Shad look back at the imperial palace where his mother and his great-grandfather were looking at him. His mother had a reluctant look on her face while his old man looked more like annoyed for some reason.
” Damn it, you can head out now the little bastard.” angrily shouted his old man. ” If you are going to leave, then leave. Be straightforward about it.”
With that, the old man left while angrily muttering something.
” Mother I am leaving now, tell father emperor not to worry when he came back.” Shad looked at his mother and then, with a turn of his head, he went into the large luxurious carriage and left for another adventure.
