Chapter 17 - Assassins (II) (1/2)

Standing alone in the dark alley with his body enshrouded by a blue transparent shield, Shad was surrounded by nine masked men in black clothing.

five 4th class warriors and four 3rd class warriors, a total of nine highly capable assassins.

For this group of people to go against Shad who was a mage and also had no experts or bodyguards following him was simply as easy as breaking an egg on a stone, so they thought!

Seeing the nine masked men standing formation after the first wave of surprise attacks had failed, Shad couldn't help but laugh bitterly in his heart.

' To be able to mobilize five silver level assassins and four copper level assassins against me, they are giving me quite a high evaluation.' thought Shad.

Looking the nine assassins that surrounded him, Shad did not dare to relax a bit. Unlike the battles he had fought in the magic battle assessment against the other students, this people in front of him were the real deal.

His spiritual force spread out, surveying each of their movements. Those people were experts in killings. Not only that, they were all warriors, the nemesis of any mage.

Suddenly, two swords, which shone with a cold radiance stabbed forward! the two pair of eyes behind the masks emitted bloodthirst and cruelty. for some reasons, their strikes didn't aim to kill him in one hit like most assassins would do, but to render him into a disabled person as they were aiming for his mana pool.

Facing the two attacks, a variety of methods to deal with them flashed within Shad's mind.

Shad released the mana shield that was protecting his body from the previous attack, as he could not physically attack them while it was on. Not only it required a huge amount of mana, it also required him to use a large amount of spiritual force to keep it on.

As soon as the mana shield dissipated, the lightning that resided within his mana pool spread out within his body.

It's electricity pumping through his veins, crackling through him, traveling to every nerve in his body like a shock.

Time seemed to have stopped for a second, the two swords attack that seemed as though they as fast as lightning was moving in slow motions in Shad point of view. his eyes were flickering with a slight white flash of electric current, making him seemed as though his eyes were like two light bulbs flashing in the night.

Fwoooshhh!

Before the two sharp swords could even reach Shad, they suddenly stopped in midair. the two assassins felt as though two hands were quietly clasped their wrists.

they did not know when Shad moved from his previous location, But now, he was standing right in front of them as though he had always been there.

Being gripped by the wrist caused the two assassins to jump. Seeing the shallow smile on his face, the two assassins expressions greatly changed. Someone of their levels knew the significance of being grabbed by the wrists after just one move.

” Crack.” Shad easily crushed each of the two assassins hands after putting some pressure into them.

” Snap.” he then pulled on them. the two assassins hands were severed from their arms, causing blood to spurt everywhere as they miserably screamed.” Ahhhhhhhh.”

After their hands were ripped off by Shad, their killer instinct allowed them to immediately move backward, away from Shad.

Shad threw away the hands and looked at the leader of the masked men that was looking at him with bloodlust and killing intent. then he said. ” Do you think that I am such an easy target that you will take your time to toy with me before killing me.”

the Leader did not answer Shad but his eyes were radiating an intense killings intents.

he suddenly made a move with his hands and another two assassins charged through the air as one, their body radiating a fiery glow as they glided through the air akin to an eagle about to snatch a rabbit with two small daggers on their hands as they pounced toward Shad.

Unlike the previous two attackers, those two were 4th class level warriors. the difference between a 3rd class warriors and a 4th class warriors were like heaven and earth.
