Chapter 127: Bloke, You Can Make It Next Year (2/2)
“Rollin…”
Rodriguez and Durk answered him at the same time. They had a strange and wry look appearing on their faces. They looked to each other and mumbled.
Qian Jin felt curious seeing the expression on their faces. “What’s wrong with that fat guy? Did he fail the examination, or has he been expelled?”
“Ah, this…” Rodriguez looked at the perplexed Qian Jin and murmured to him, “Qian Jin… about this… don’t be sad… Rollin…”
Qian Jin felt uneasy seeing Rodriguez’s twisted expression. He asked anxiously, “What’s wrong with him?”
“Two days ago, he passed away…”
“What?!”
Qian Jin lost his balance, jolting to the other side as if he was hit by lightning on his skull. He looked at Rodriguez in a stupor. The muscle on the corner of his eyes kept cramping, “He’s dead… dead…”
Rodriguez grinded his teeth and nodded his head, “Un…”
“How did he die?” Qian Jin felt suffocated as if he was pushed by a big stone on his chest, “He was as timid as a hare… after all, no war broke out here…”
Rodriguez peeped at the seemingly ruthless warrior standing nearby. He grinded his teeth again and said, “I’m not too clear about this. I was informed that he passed away suddenly in his own home several days ago in the evening. His wife Julius said he died from a quick heart attack…”
“Heart attack? You mentioned who? Julius? Rollin married Julius?” Qian Jin looked at Rodriguez and questioned, He died from a heart attack?”
Rodriguez shook his head and sighed, “Who knows for sure? All kinds of rumors are being spread around, among which the most reasonable one is that Julius wasn’t faithful and had an affairn with Caeller, causing them to murder Rollin. At this moment, the Cae Family is rushing into the Roll Family in an attempt to scramble for the entire family property of the Roll Family…”
“Professor, please be cautious with what you say.” The brown-haired seeming insidious warrior apprentice slightly raised his head and stared at Rodriguez, “Is it possible that the Cae Family is green-eyed for the insignificant property of the Roll Family?”
“Is the Cae Family still in the Roll Family?” Qian Jin gazed upon Rodriguez’s eyes.
“Um.” Rodriguez nodded feebly, “They are threatening the Roll family in Rollin’s mourning hall. The poor little girl… alas… Qian Jin, I know that you used to be close, but there are some affairs that you shouldn’t intervene with…”
Qian Jin turned back, turning a deaf ear to what Rodriguez was saying. The sunlight ahead of him suddenly disappeared as the brown-haired warrior apprentice came to stand in his way. At the same time, the cold voice rung into his ears, “You just called out the name of the dean…”
“Get out of my way!”
Qian Jin’s mind was filled with Rollin’s image and his voice when someone stopped him. He showed no concern for what that person was talking about. Rather, he pushed away the intruder’s shoulder, strode so fiercely that the flagstone on the ground was smashed into pieces, and rushed out of the room for the Roll Family.
The brown-haired warrior felt pain on his shoulder by some strong force before being pushed away, without being able to make a move. His shoulder knocked on the wall sharply, producing a dull bang.
Rollin was dead? Was Rollin dead?
“I swear that I will marry Julius as my wife! Otherwise, I will grow fatter and fatter until the day I leave this world.”
“Comrade, our friendship…”
“Bloke, be my brother-in-law…”
“Buddy…it’s my treat…”
Qian Jin kept thinking about the smiling fat Rollin. How could such a person pass away?
The Roll Family’s house took up an area of nearly a whole street. White cloth strips were hanged on the wall throughout the street. Nobody came to show their condolences; the cloth strips were quivering lightly in the wind, creating a mournfully desolate scene.
Rollin’s corpse was laid in the front of the hall. By the coffin, Rosella was kneeling in a white mourning dress with tears dried up in her red eyes.
Julius was also in white mourning dress, standing there and cuddling a one-year-old baby in her arms. No trace of tears or sadness was shown on the corner of her eyes.
