275 Puzzle Pieces (2/2)

Someone's at the door. It seems to be urgent based on how fast the knocks are.

”Come in,” I said and so he entered.

”The event happened again and it was yesterday. He lost consciousness once again inside the game which means he's getting those dreams again but this time it's different.” He said. He's one of our best scientists but still not good enough.

”So the medicine didn't work, huh. This time double the dosage and hope it works this time.” I ordered.

Yes, we give him this supplement and add it to his food without him knowing. We started giving him that since he woke up from the coma and it's a direct order from Mr. Kim. I don't know what's that for but he said that he's giving that almost his whole life for his headaches and sudden passed outs and I don't have the authority to question those methods. Then I guess the effectiveness of that medicine is starting to decrease or it's just that recent events trigger his illness.

I heard a myth about people who study thoughts or memory related stuff and even those who study dreams... but in our generation, there are close to none which is why we're having troubles trying to understand what is happening to Aries. That is also why no one can create a game like NLO ever again, because based on our data, the game itself was made hundreds of years ago but it wasn't released for some reasons and studying those kinds of sciences was banned a long time ago and there's no one alive anymore to tell the tales.

Not only that, Mr. Kim said that Aries is the main piece of the puzzle but... there are two more people who help the piece to complete the puzzle. It's Noelle and Chara. Unlike Aries, Noelle and Chara don't have the same brain-related illness but both have different illnesses that can't be or can never be cured their whole life with what we have right now. Still, I don't know what is or are their roles but they said that we need to protect them. Mrs. Kim talked to Ms. Aurora, my superior, and that is why they are hidden in a small rural hospital while she protects her sister. Petula, same rank as me, is protecting her sister Chara in her mansion and have the best guards that can protect them from any assassinations. We might not be able to protect Petula's mother but she made her own decision to protect her sister with all she's got. But... they never mentioned anything about Mari... I feel like Mari is not part of any of this and they don't want to involve her at all. Even so, I will protect her with my own life.

I'm one of the highest ranked members of this ”Savior of the Savior” but I feel like I don't know anything and I am just doing what they order me to do. I just know that this is for the better of the future. I may not have a good future ahead of me but this isn't just about me or even just for us but they said that this is for the sake of humanity, sounds like something you read from novels or books but this isn't just fantasy... it's the reality and I have to do what I must do. (No, she doesn't read Whackpad)

How long am I going to wait here? Compared to the prison below Order of Light, they don't have that place which we can't use spells so I can basically use Shade's passive and just slip through the walls and my darkness would make them blind... still, I can't leave the others behind. This is why I prefer going adventures with a small party.

”I know what you're thinking Scy. Just stay put and let's not make any troubles. We already reduced their first island's army by half and we don't want them to get angrier so don't move and just wait.” Elou... Is it just me or can he read my mind?

”I'm not thinking that,” I replied.

”KACHAAA!” Oh finally, he's back and I think I really should have put him down.

”The time has come and now, our King shall give you your judgment. As I told you before, the king has two Rare Bosses that guard him. So, you need two more people to help you.” Gill said... wait...

”Are you telling me that we have to fight the three of them? If so, even with our best members, there's no way we can take them all down in a day or two. I didn't sign up for this.” I replied. This is just too risky.

I hunted down Shade like a hundred times in that one week. I almost lost him and I almost died every single time too. I trust my members that they can take care of the two guards but I'm not confident that I have the ability to defeat their King.

”This is not a matter of if you like it or not because you don't have a choice. If you don't do it, we'll execute all of you in front of our people like a coward or be killed fighting like a true warrior.” He replied. I think there's a better choice but I can't seem to figure it out.

”Also, there's no guarantee that you'll let us go if we can defeat your king. We're at your main island and you can just slaughter us.” I replied. We're in a spot where even whatever we do, in the end, we're all going to die.

”Let me tell you this, you can never defeat our King. I'm sure about that. Still, we're giving you a good and swift death. You can try. But anyway, pick two people now who will help you face the King. Everyone is excited to see some human heads rolling on the ground.” Woah... That was motivational.

”I will bring Zia and Akko. Also, that's something you don't say to someone they call the Reaper.” I replied and I'm not sure why but the feeling of going to something or somewhere you know that you'll just die makes me excited.
