How did I end up in this kind of situation... We are doing good before Scy showed up. I heard he got some bad luck but it's worse than I expected.
-Order of Light North Gate-
So, I'm now with some strange people, though I can tell that they're good. I hope we could really find something from that guy. We don't have much time to waste anymore.
We headed out and moved fast enough to reach almost near the city in no time. They're faster than I thought. We have to move slowly this time or the scouts might see us.
”Take this, Miss Chara. It's a badge from the Hearth Fire's guild. They will let us pass if we can show it to the guards but for now, we have to use this as a disguise.” Beat gave me a big cloak to use.
I hope that this could fool the guards, though. If this won't work then we're screwed.
We reached the entrance of the guild from the North Gate and guards were alarmed by us. Their bows are pointed at us and I can tell that with a wrong move, we're all going to be in trouble.
*Opening sounds* the smaller gate opened and two fully armored guards showed up.
”We're really not taking any visitors now. Please go back or else we are going to take action.” One of the guards said. It looks like they are currently not that aggressive right now.
”We're from the Hearth Fire guild and we would like to get the equipment we ordered from the Order of Light's North Branch Armory,” Beat said, wow. He knows his stuff.
”They only do business with people who can pay them. There's no way people like you guys can afford their merchandise. And if you're from the Hearth Fire, then show proof.” The guard insisted.
Beat pulled out the badge and then showed it to the guard.
”This is... but if you're really merchants, show us something that would make us believe that you guys can afford to have business with the North Branch Armory.” His expression changed after he saw the badge. Who owned these badges?
”Here's the proof,”
He pulled out the gold pouch and showed it to them!
”Woah! Wait... that's... We're sorry for the inconvenience sir. You can now enter.” The guard stuttered and then he let us enter the smaller gate. Woah... Does this be what they call security?
”I told you it'll work. But right now, let's go to the place Miss Osia is talking about.” He suggested.
”It's in the tavern and it's near the Center Castle of this city. We'll be meeting more guards so always be prepared.” Is it just I or this is not the first time they did this thing. They know what they are doing.
We just followed them and so far, we haven't met any problems. I was once a citizen of this city but after I left, there are so many changes here that I can't tell where is where anymore. They improved the buildings and they also fixed the result of the previous invasion. Compared to our guild, this city is way more populated and more advanced when it comes to all defensive and offensive structures. No wonder we lost the first battle.
-Order of Light Tavern-
After walking a while, we reached the tavern. Oh... This tavern. I know this place, it's just that, I don't go to this kind of places because I don't want too much attention.
We entered the Tavern and as we open the door, we heard loud noises and singing of people inside. It seems like people are celebrating... It should be us who are doing this but I guess it's not our time yet. We still have a chance. It irritates me to see this but we have to ignore them...
”Wahahaha! Did you see how I slaughtered those noobs?! They even cried for help, such losers!” Ugh... I heard a random shout from one of them.
”I know right! They should stop playing the game because they suck! I bet they're crying right now and leaving that weak guild!” I have to control my emotions. Chara, relax.
”Hey! Who are you? Why are you hiding your face?” One of them started noticing me as I enter the tavern.
He grabbed my shoulder with his arm and tried to break it but...
”Hey, don't you dare touch my customer or you'll regret it!” The tavern keeper yelled. People inside stopped making noises and there's a moment of silence out of the blue.
”Oh... Tsk...” The guy stopped grabbing my shoulder and walked away. It seems like they respect him or should I say... fear him.
