Chapter 12 (1/2)
Chapter 12
‘Erden isn’t here…?’
Leticia’s heart ached.
As expected, bad things have happened!
She had thought.
“What is this?!”
Casaro came from the kitchen while running. Before she knew it, she had double swords on both sides of her waist.
“I didn’t think there’s someone who can attack us.”
Alexa also hurried into the hall surrounded by guards.
“Let’s evacuate for now!”
Bastian screamed.
There was a creepy sound coming out of nowhere, it sounded like a bug’s murmur.
Leticia, the three grandmothers, and maids left the strange noise and entered the shelter inside the hall. The soldiers of the castle ran behind.
“What is going on so suddenly?”
The soldiers answered Alexa’s question.
“It’s giant ants! Three months ago, the annihilated ones suddenly reappeared from the ground!”
“What?”
Everyone was surprised.
Alexa hurriedly maneuvered the wizards on one side of the shelter. The scene outside reflected in a mirror.
“AH!”
Leticia freaked out.
She could see giant ant monsters. They came with the sunshine and gathered in a huddle outside the city and she thought it was gross.
The three grandmothers and all the soldiers were staring at the magic wielders while being stiff. But it was different from the view of Leticia.
Bastian pointed to the ant leader.
“There’s that head-stabbed boss over there! That’s definitely it! They’re the ones who were swept away by the sandstorms that came after our forces! This is ridiculous. It’s clear that not a single one has survived at that time!”
“Let’s say that they were alive! Let’s say that they’ve been hiding for three months since then, that’d make even more sense, but is that even possible?”
Casaro also raised questions.
“They must’ve deceived us with some evil powers. Maybe they have an artifact?”
Alexa murmured and looked back at the soldiers.
“Did you contact the Lord?”
“Yes! I’ve blown the messenger away. But how far can he be…”
It was then…
“Look here!”
The soldier readied their magic wands and aimed fire at the ants.
The giant ant’s army was setting fire everywhere. Their deeds were clearly visible in the bright flames.
A group of people clung to the outer wall of the castle and glued together with a strange lump of mud. A new white giant ant was seen climbing over it and sitting down.
“Those people…!”
The three grandmothers were furious.
“Damn it! It was all planned! I didn’t expect them to drag their queen and get in the house! They waited for the Lord to go on an expedition!”
“We can’t wait! They’re looting! Once they build their backup, it’s only a matter of time before they destroy our perimeters!”
“This is an emergency!”
Bastian shouted vigorously.
“We can’t let a demon race build a nest on the outer wall of our castle! I’ll stop them at all costs!”
The silver-haired nanny raised a spear with one hand and naturally exuded confidence and dignity. Her soft like aura is nowhere to be seen with what she acted.
There was no hero in this castle who had more combat experience besides Bastian right now. They all followed her command naturally.
“Guardian, how many soldiers can we mobilize now?”
“Not that much. This is a situation in which most of the troops have followed the Lor-“
“We need to make the most of our firepower with a small force! Gather all the weapons in the castle! Look for any trophies to use!”
“Yes!”
The soldiers rushed out with her orders.
Leticia finally woke up in a trance.
There is no time to be obsessed with trauma.
Everyone is fighting hard.
It’s not time to just look around. She had to do what she could.
With her resolve, her eyes tightened, and memorized the situation
After a while, the soldiers returned.
They brought all the boxes with firearms that they will use against the monsters. Every single thing that is available to be used, it had all been brought out.
It was then a soldier spilled a box that was titled ‘imp.’ A water gun rolled out on it and there was a mess.
Leticia’s eyes grew wide.
‘Huh?’
It was full of dust, which was peculiar. It just looked like that when she eyed it from every angle.
It was an old object which had saved her life.
Butane gas.
‘Is that really it?’
Leticia approached quickly. Ah, she picked up the muddy metal container that everyone wouldn’t want to pick.
What she thought was right.
It was the same thing they found in the imp cart.
Why is there so much butane gas rolling around in the wilderness of this world?
There must be some story behind it. She could hardly guess what was going on after the war.
Anyway, what is important now is that it was present.
‘With this…!’
