9 Happy Birthday! (2/2)

Cutting a big slice of cake, Margaret pushed the big piece of cake into his mouth. Looking at his stuffed cheeks, she laughed. In return, Corbette took even a more bigger slice of cake and stuffed it into her mouth. The girl's mouth couldn't hold the big amount of cake and it overflowed and smashed against her cheeks. She looked adorable.

Looking at each other, both hurriedly gulped down the cake and stared at each other for a while. After that, they both burst into laughter.

Everything seemed so perfect at that moment.

Looking at his laughing face, she thought 'I sometimes wonder how my father looked like'. She sighed.

Both father and daughter talked for hours. Corbette cracked jokes in between and poor Margaret had to hold her stomach as it hurt out off laughing so much. Tears of happiness rolled down her crescent shaped eyes. Looking at how her daughter looked happy, Corbette felt pleased.

After hours of laughing and talking, Corbette bid Margaret good night.

”It's 2 in the morning! I'll be leaving Margaret. If your mother sees me, she'll chew me alive for sure”, laughed Corbette.

”Good night Margaret. Happy Birthday...”, he kissed her forehead and left the room.

Closing the door quietly, the smile on her beautiful face vanished. She knew that today was not her birthday. She lied about her birthday.

Today's date held a very special position in her heart. Ten years ago from now, she had her last embrace of her mother. She had felt safe for the the last time on this date ten years ago. She heard her mother's voice for the last time on this date. Ten years ago, she saw mother for the last time.

She waited for her mother to return back, but she didn't.

Today was her 10th Death Anniversary.
