9 Happy Birthday! (1/2)

Year 1871

December 13th.

Hearing three knocks on the door, Margaret woke up in the middle of the night. She glanced at the door and got up from bed. A little scared, she walked sluggishly towards the door. Upon reaching, she asked in a low voice ”Who's there?”. There was no response. She asked again yet received no response. Hearing no sound anymore, she creaked opened the door and peeped out of it.

”Happy Birthday Margaret!!”, exclaimed her father.

Shocked to see him jumped in front of the door, Margaret squeaked.

”Won't you let me in?”, father asked her.

”Sure!! Come in.”, she welcomed him, smiling widely.

”Thank you so much father.”, she spoke.

”Now come on my little girl it's your birthday!!.. let's cut the cake!”, he spoke as he started digging candles into the soft butterscotch cake placed on the wooden table.

”It's a butterscotch cake father!”, exclaimed Margaret.

”I know right Margaret”, he said sarcastically.

”Now blow the candles fast!”, he acted as if he was about to blow.

”Yeah!!”, she mimicked him as she blew the candles.
