48 25th World Martial Arts Tournamen (2/2)

When Reiss was paired against Kibito in the next match, things at the tournament took an interesting turn. The blue haired teen took some time to stretch his limbs in the ring, preparing to fight the mysterious Kibito. Raditz stared down at the waiting area, watching to see whether Shin or his prey would make a move during the match.

”Reiss! Good luck!” Erasa shouted from the stands.

”I don't think he needs luck, Erasa.” Sharpner said from the seat next to her. ”Remember how he did in school.”

Reiss was prepared to take it easy on the older looking man until he saw the look his father had. Raditz looked like this match was important for some reason the teen couldn't guess. Reiss wasn't going to underestimate Kibito during the match.

”You are a Saiyan correct?” the tall Kai asked.

”Yes. Technically, I'm a half-Saiyan” Reiss answered confused. ”Why do you want to know?”

”I can tell you have a great power.” Kibito answered. ”Can you become a Super Saiyan?”

”I can transform into a Super Saiyan, but I don't know why you want to know.” the teen answered. ”I can beat you like I am.”

”You might believe that, but you cannot.” the Kai said solemnly. ”There are some threats that cannot be overcome. But by showing me your Super Saiyan power, you might help save the universe.”

Reiss believed he had drawn the short stick and got matched up against an insane opponent. His senses told him that the man would be no match for him in his base form, let alone a Super Saiyan form. From Kibito's demeanor, Reiss could tell he wasn't lying, or at least believed what he was saying to be true.

”Explain what you mean.” Reiss demanded. ”How will me going all out save the universe?”

”I will explain after the match. Just know that you will be helping the gods.” Kibito said.

Reiss didn't like sound of the last part. He was all for keeping the universe intact, but growing up around his father caused him to be biased against the beings that called themselves gods. Raditz was never good at hiding his resentment of gods from his son. Reiss was never sure why his father disliked the gods, since he never heard that he interacted with them.

”If that's what you want, fine.” Reiss agreed.

The crowd gasped as the entire island trembled from Reiss powering up. Spopovich and Yamu's eyes were glued to the arena, locked onto the blue haired teen. The Supreme Kai, Shin couldn't believe the level of strength the boy had. His original thoughts about using the mortals to assist him went out the window. Clearly, the boy's strength was on the level of the Kais, or possibly above them. He would be a great help in the fight against Babidi and his minions.

In a flash of energy, Reiss finished his transformation into a Super Saiyan. The crowd was wowed by the teen's sudden transformation into a greenish, golden haired form. The last time they saw a transformation like that was on the recordings of Cell's tournament.

Kibito took a small step back after witnessing the transformation. The level of power from the teen was far greater than he expected. He was sure Shin was right when he said Yamu and Spopovich wouldn't be able to resist trying to steal his power.

”Are you ready now?” Reiss asked. ”I transformed like you wanted.”

Kibito managed to gather himself, adopting his calm demeanor as the teen slowly approach him. When Reiss made it to the middle of the ring, he paused in his steps. He seemed as though he was fighting against an invisible barrier. The teen looked shocked by the power that held him.

The Supreme Kai stood ringside with his arms outstretched towards Reiss. The Kai was using his power to hold the teen in place so his target Yamu and Spopovich would make their move. Sweat poured from the Kai as he fought to keep the prince contained. Reiss continued to struggle, causing the Supreme Kai to drop to a knee attempting to keep the Super Saiyan immobile.

The moment Spopovich and Yamu jumped into the ring, Reiss broke free of the containment magic the Supreme Kai was using. A flurry of blows sent Yamu tumbling back out of the ring as Reiss turned to the massive Spopovich. When Reiss moved to attack, he was locked down again by the combined efforts of Kibito and the Supreme Kai.

Once again, Reiss struggled to free himself from imprisonment, but it was taking longer than before. Spopovich manage to stab the prince in the side with a strange white device. Reiss fought harder than before to fight back, but felt his energy rapidly leaving his body. His hair reverted back to blue and he lost his golden aura as his Super Saiyan Ki was drained away by Spopovich. The other fighters were going to rush in to help when they saw Reiss's match being interfered with, but held back after Raditz signaled them to just watch.

After the drained Reiss collapsed to the ring, Spopovich and a recovered Yamu fled the stadium as fast as they could. The horrified crowd didn't know what was happening. They couldn't believe someone would interfere with the tournament by jumping in and stabbing a fighter. Raditz appeared in the ring to give his downed son a Panacea bean to recover from his ordeal.

”I hope you are in the mood for revenge, boy.” Raditz said to the recovered Reiss.
