48 25th World Martial Arts Tournamen (1/2)

The junior division concluded with both children tying due to a double ringout. During the fight, Eschalot proved to still be a little stronger than Goten. While they were fighting above the ring, the boy managed to catch her off guard with a grapple and dive bombed them both to the ground. Even though there was no clear victor, the audience was still satisfied with the fight.

After an hour long intermission, the adults were ready to fight. The competitors were ushered to a tent near the side of the ring. They would be able to wait for their fights while still being close to the ring. Piccolo watched the fighter known as Shin the entire walk to the ringside tent. Just because Raditz said that Shin wasn't a problem, it didn't mean he wasn't hiding something.

After some short opening words, the announcer declared the start of the World Martial Arts adult competition round. The crowds released a chorus of cheers from the announcers energetic performance.

When the cheers settled, he drew the crowd's attention to the special open air booth above the ring entrance. A dazzling pyrotechnic display erupted around the booth while the crowd stared, fascinated by what the show was leading to.

”Ladies and Gentlemen, his legendary fight at the 22rd World tournament changed the world, opening our eyes to how far martial arts could go! He went on to become ruler of the Prometheus Empire and saved the Earth not once, but twice! Our Emperor, His Majesty, Prometheus Raditz!” the announcer introduced the galactic emperor.

Raditz emerged on cue under a hail of cheers from the crowd as he made his way to the front of the booth. After the shouts died down, he took his seat on the finely designed chair that was provided for him to observe the matches.

”The first match to start us off will be between returning contestants Piccolo and Jewel!” After announcing the match, the black suited blonde MC surrendered the ring to the fighters.

Piccolo wasn't concerned with the young man that was his opponent. Jewel was strong for an average human, but he was nowhere close to Piccolo's level in either skill or power. The Namekian stared at his opponent, waiting on him to make the first move. Jewel had long blonde hair parted in the middle and wore a light blue Kung-fu uniform. He dropped into his fighting stance, hoping to finish Piccolo quickly with a diamond chop.

Piccolo watched as the blonde man flew recklessly towards him full of confidence in his skills. To the Namekian, Jewel appeared to be moving in slow motion as the distance between the fighters closed. The blonde man'shand was raisedin the position to deliver a swift but powerful chop to his opponent's neck.

The instant Jewel followed through with his attack, his arm was grasped by the Namekian. The younger fighter's eyes bugged out his head from someone actually being able to stop his signature attack. A gentle uppercut from Piccolo caused Jewel to foam from the mouth before passing out. The usually excited announcer didn't even have time to make any comments before the match ended.

”Piccolo wins!” the announcer shouted breaking the crowds silence from their shock and disappointment over the round.

Spopovich and Yamu were whispering to themselves after witnessing Piccolo's match. The Namekian's sharp hearing allowed him to pick a few of their words over the noise of the crowd's discussions. He heard them mention some things about energy and someone named Babidi.

The next fighters chosen to compete in the tournament were Yamcha and Killa. When the fighters arrived at the ring, the announcer exited the ring again to give them room. Killa was a tall, dark skinned, man with green shorts, wrestling boots, and a green tank top. Like Jewel before him, Killa had fought in the tournament before and was brimming with confidence.

”Hita mut tenna mite,” Killa smiled pointing at Yamcha. ”Fun dis denim tiem fight!”

It was a bold declaration that shocked the crowd. Some chuckled at the fighter's determination to win his battle.

”Sorry to say, but I have been at this much longer than you!” Yamcha countered, not wanting to be outdone.

”I pity tha flipma howsy rest, yeah!” Killa crossed his arms and laughed. ”Ring down pattsy sty!”

The crowd laughed again clearly won over by the man's charisma when it came to insulting his opponents. Yamcha was somewhat angered by the fact he didn't seem to have any fans in the crowd. He ended up dodging around the boxing strikes Killa threw at him, hoping to win some of the crowd over with a display of his skills.

The out of his league boxer chased Yamcha around the ring doing his best to tag the long haired man. The audience's cheers spurred Killa on as he fought. To Yamcha's surprise the crowd cheered harder for the out matched Killa, Yamcha inadvertently turned him into an underdog, and the crowds loved those.

Realizing he would not be able to get any audience appreciation from the match, Yamcha ended it with a well placed chin strike. The hit caused Killa to collapse to the ground like a stringless puppet. Yamcha threw up his arms in a victorious pose, but ended up getting booed out of the ring by the crowd who had become fans of Killa.

”Moving right along!” the announcer shouted, saving Yamcha from the crowds anger. ”The daughter of the previous champion, Mr. Satan, will be fighting the son of the former champion, Kakarot! Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Videl vs Son Gohan!”

The crowd went absolutely crazy from the announcement of the next competitors. The audience had high hopes for the level of excitement they would receive from the children of former champs. When the pair arrived in the ring, the crowd ceased all noise, not wanting to miss a beat of the battle.

Videl wasted no time entering her fighting stance. She knew from training with Gohan, that the teen's strength was incomparable to her own, she didn't stand a chance. The girl wouldn't take the loss as bad knowing what she was up against, but that didn't mean she was going to lose without putting up a fighting.

Videl pushed her speed to her utmost limits as she went on the attack against Gohan. The audience had to refer to the high speed monitors to keep up with the girl's movements. Gohan danced around, blocking her hits and blasts, playfully striking back with a few of his own. The crowd cheered from the dance they saw occur between the fighters. To their untrained eyes, it appeared as though Gohan and Videl were closer in power than they actually were, otherwise they probably would have developed the same level of hate for Gohan as they carried for Yamcha.

After Videl exhausted her bag of tricks in the fight, Gohan knocked her out of the ring with a light kick to her midsection. The kick wasn't hard enough to knock her unconscious, but it still did hurt. She was happy that even though it was a loss, she tried everything she could. It was also appreciated that she lost in a dignified manner.
