20 Opening Salvo (1/2)
Emperor Raditz was waiting inside a Namekian home in one of the villages. He had gotten reports from the others that Frieza Force soldiers had shown up at the villages they were stationed in.
”I can't say I'm surprised to see you.” Raditz said lazily, ”Why'd you have to come to the village I was in?” he was wearing black and red armor with gray gloves and boots, along with a red lensed Scouter covering his right eye. The armor's chest piece bore the symbol of the empire, an encircled flame.
”Why are you here, Raditz?” Vegeta questioned.
”I'm here to kill Frieza.” Raditz grinned. ”And its Emperor Raditz.”
”You think you have a chance to kill Frieza without using the Dragon Balls to gain immortality.” Vegeta scoffed, ”You're more foolish than I thought.”
Nappa was becoming agitated by the tone the conversation was taking. He had not expected to run into Raditz again. The beating he suffered at the hands of Raditz's son was still fresh in his mind. He wasn't thrilled about being antagonistic to the long haired Saiyan at this point.
”This planet is currently under the protection of the Prometheus Empire.” Raditz declared, ”You will not be getting the Dragon Balls, but you and Nappa can mop up Frieza's men. That or you can just sit back and watch the downfall of Frieza. But if you get in my way I will crush you.”
”I'm the Prince of all Saiyans, Raditz. I don't work for you.” Vegeta stressed the word ”all.”
Raditz hovered a small distance off the ground and floated towards the two Saiyans. Nappa retreated back two steps from Raditz's approach.
”What do we have here!” a voice called down, ”Three Saiyans and a village of soldiers!”
Everyone looked up to see the source of the voice. It was Captain Ginyu along with Recoome and Burter. The trio dropped down into the village to confront their targets.
”Lord Frieza, this is Captain Ginyu! We have located the Saiyans and will be bring Vegeta to you shortly!” Ginyu said after pressing the button on his Scouter.
”He can't hear you.” Raditz reported, ”All of the villages have devices that block the transmission of Frieza Force Scouters. That's how we have been secretly killing the troops that arrive at the villages. They also emit a jamming field making the villages virtually invisible to detection by the Scouters.”
”What!” Ginyu was furious. ”How dare you stand in the way of the Frieza Force's mission!”
”Captain, I want to teach this Saiyan a lesson.” Recoome stepped forward.
”Very well Recoome I will allow you to do the honors!” Captain Ginyu encouraged. However, he noticed he had lost track of the long haired Saiyan.
”Captain!” Burter hissed out a shout.
Ginyu felt pressure on his skull between his horns and for some reason he couldn't move his body. He heard a thud below him. He tried to look over to Burter, but he couldn't turn his body.
Recoome looked around to see why Burter sounded so distraught. His eyes widened in horror to see his Captain's head no longer attached to his body, but in the hand of the long haired Saiyan. He was clueless about how the Saiyan pulled off such a feat. Recoome knew he wasn't the fastest member of the Ginyu Force, but he should have at least been able to see the Saiyan move past him.
”A Super Saiyan...” Ginyu spoke his last words before Raditz tossed his head into the air disintegrating it with a Ki blast.
Raditz knew how many problems Ginyu could pose with his body swapping technique, so he chose to end the threat swiftly and in an imposing manner.
”So you want to challenge me?” Raditz asked glaring daggers into Recoome.
Recoome didn't understand what was happening. He never thought a Saiyan could ever be powerful enough to challenge their Captain, let alone kill him. His focus had become so locked on Raditz that he never realized Vegeta had charged a Ki blast.
The attack the Saiyan prince unleashed into Recoome's blindspot left the hulk of a man a blackened smoking corpse. The short Saiyan was fuming at Ginyu's insinuation of Raditz being a Super Saiyan. In his mind, if anyone deserved the title it was he, Vegeta, the Prince of all Saiyans.
Witnessing his comrades be dispatched so quickly, Burter turned to flee. He was going to use the speed which gave him the title as fastest in the Ginyu Force to report back to his master, lord Frieza. Burter thought he was dreaming when he turned only to come face to face with Raditz. He looked down to see that the Saiyan had a Ki blast charged and placed perfectly against his chest. Burter was left with no time to react when the beam fired, ending his life.
Raditz wondered if the other groups were having as easy a time with their assignments as he was having. He used his Scouter to quickly check in with the other groups. All of the villages had now encountered enemies.
Piccolo was fighting directly over the Namekian village he was posted in. His opponent was an orange skinned male humanoid, who introduced himself as Jeice of the Ginyu Force. The invader was proving to be a fearsome enemy. He was not only fast, but had power to back it up. Piccolo was trying to keep the battle within close proximity of the village to stay in range of the Scouter scramblers. The soldiers Raditz stationed in the village with him had almost finished taking out Frieza's men that showed up with Jeice.
The Namekian knew if it wasn't for the training environment Raditz had provided, he would have long since died. Jeice flew around Piccolo firing a Ki blast at him from every angle. The Namekian Earthling was obscured by a cloud of black smoke from the attacks. Jeice, after think his foe was finished, halted his attack to admire his own handiwork.
He was expecting the Namekian to be covered with wounds when the smoke cleared. Unfortunately, his expectations were not met. Only Piccolo's clothes were damaged by the attack. Jeice noticed that purple blood covered many of the tattered remains of the Namekian's clothing even though there were no visible wounds.
When Piccolo was suffering under the attack he, stealthily, ate one of the Panacea beans Raditz had provided to the teams. It was what allowed him to survive the barrage of attacks and now his opponent was drained. It also didn't hurt that the Grand Elder had saw fit to unlock some sleeping potential that was dormant within Piccolo.
Jeice decided the best move would be to flee now that his opponent took no damage from his attack, and even looked refreshed. The Frieza Force troops that had also come to the village were already wiped out by the Prometheus Empire soldiers.
