She understood the situation instantly.

”Oh...that, I have to rush now.” She said and fled like a puff of smoke.

While Lu Shaoting secretly laughed at his fleeting sister-in-law, someone who was probably too rushed and did not see him bumped right into his chest.

”Ow--!” Whoever it was cried out in pain. The impact was too much.

It was a girl. She rubbed her almost broken nose awkwardly. ”Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going.” She apologized.

”Mmh” he grunted to indicate he accepted the apology before going his way. But wasn't he the one who should apologize? His firm chest almost broke the poor girl's nose.

He turned after a few steps to glance back and saw the girl disappear into a corner in the corridor. He stared at her back for a while.

”Ouch!” he had hit his face into a wall.

What was that? Did he just feel his heart race?

Wan Jia splashed cold water onto her face, made sure her heart was calm and took out her phone to text someone.

[Little Wan : I haven't seen you at the banquet. Not coming?]

[Xuan: Something came up at my studio. I'll be on my way once I handle it.]

She was about to reply when another text came in.

[Miss me too much? Are you terribly bored without me?]

[Why would I miss you? What's there to miss? I just don't know many people around here, okay?...and something super great just happened. Of course I want to share the good news with my friend.]

Yun Xuan's gossip mode was ignied immediately. [What is it? Tell me, tell me quick.] She pried.

[No can do. I'll tell you when you arrive.]

[Xuan: You're not being fair at all! Do you miss me that much? Is Lu Aotian too boring?]

I won't talk to you anymore.]
