Chapter 176 - Two-Faced Coin (1/2)
Flashes and Flashes of images floated in his mind. King Jin kept running and trying to get a hold of them until he finally caught one. It was an image of him saving someone inside a cave. She was cold and having a fever. The sight of her tugged his heart. Right then and there, he wanted to bring her home and keep her safe.
That image engraved into his mind as if really happened. As soon as that image imprinted inside his brain, more images came. It was like a slow-motion movie, everything felt surreal.
But the ending didn't come, it movie ended abruptly. He lost that woman as he saw her cold body, lifeless and cold. What happened? Why did she die? Who killed her? WHO KILLED MY WOMAN?!
King Jin yelled so loud that his aura became full of killing intent. Just then, he felt a warm hand caressing his face. A light came about in his dark world. His eyes slowly opened to see his savior.
"Ling'er?" He called out. He stretched his hand, trying to touch her.
Yi Ling was sitting beside King Jin while Muxin and Minzhe were discussing something outside. He was so still, like someone who was in deep sleep. Until she saw him twitching as if having nightmares. She couldn't help but try to wake him up.
Only when she touched his face, did the man shows signs of waking up. Yi Ling held the stretched hand to her face. "I'm here."
King Jin blinked and look at her. "Ling'er. I found you at last." He murmured.
"Yes, you found me." Yi Ling was teary. Although Meiling and Hualing was her previous life, she felt that it wasn't really her at the same time.
Seeing the pain in her eyes, King Jin sat up and pulled her into his embrace. "You won't try and run away from me again, would you? I hate for us to keep chasing each other."
Yi Ling hugged back when she was pulled in. Listening to his words, Yi Ling became puzzled and looked at King Jin. There was confusion in her eyes.
King Jin brushed some of the hairs on her face and said, "Meeting you in that cave, is fate."
Yi Ling's eyes widened. "You... You remember?"
King Jin smiled, his purple eyes glittered with joy. "I just remembered. Sorry for taking so long. Can you just add it to all my mistakes and forgive me altogether?"
Yi Ling chuckled. "That would be a mouthful. I deserve some compensation."
King Jin laughed for the first time in so many years. "That's right. My Ling'er deserves the best in this world. Everything is all yours, including my heart."
