14 CHAPTER 14: THE SHIMMERBLIGH (1/2)

In response to the demonic plant monster, Zeran and Ru brought out their signature weapons. He had summoned and gripped his golden claw. Ru revealed her enchanted gun loaded with magical bullets. She tried to aim with perfect precision and trigger an accurate shot at the monster. Though, she was suddenly ambushed by one of it's tendrils that was somewhat similar to a wriggling tentacle. Those tendrils caught and wreathed Ru in a tight squeeze. Zeran was utterly surprised when he saw that she was easily caught. The monster tried to struck Zeran with its tendrils but, he evaded its attempt by his smooth and stylish movements. As it noticed, that Zeran was a hard one one to catch, it had stopped lashing its putrid tentacle-like tendrils. Instead, it focussed on its caught prey, Ru, that turned Zeran to pause for a second with a dumbstrucked expression. Its suffering self turned to release its grip on Zeran too. As Zeran found an opportunity he had lashed lots of slashes and scrapes at the monster in grievious frenzy by his claw gleaming in great brilliance. The monster wasn't able to fight back since it was feeling the burning flames from its whole body. Soon, it released its hold on Ru .Zeran was able to catch the falling princess Ru in his arms and her face wasn't cold for him. As the monster vanished into thin air, it left the two safe and sound from the impending crisis and the air of the ominous death was no longer at their footsteps. Though, Zeran just turned his face away from her thankful smile, since he doesn't want to show his embarassing face although, his heart skipped a beat and it was wreathed into a burning sensation for a few moments.
