Chapter 40 - Unidentified Persons

Yun Qianliang's roundabout way of trying to catch the chicken was extremely tiring. Sweat covered his forehead, and the light in his eyes and the decisiveness in her actions were not affected at all. She was like a warrior who had experienced hundreds of battles. Even though she was physically and mentally exhausted, she was still tense.

After Gu Yicheng finished dealing with the enemy by his side, he jumped to Yun Qianliang's side and used the back of his hand to stab the sword into the enemy's chest.

The Gu family's hidden guards followed the retreat in unison, but the direction they were retreating towards wasn't the return of the city.

In the darkness, Ji Qichi stared fixedly at where Gu Yicheng and the rest were retreating to, his eyes gloomy and unreadable, as though there was a light that was about to shoot out from his eyes, but she had concealed it extremely well.

”Advisor, are we not going to make a move?” A dark guard dressed in plain grey clothes asked for instructions from behind.

”Go investigate the origins of these people.” Ji Qichi unhurriedly ordered. When he spoke, he hid all the emotions in her eyes, like a tyrannical lion hiding its true colours, pretending to be friendly with its prey.

”But Prince's orders …” The dark guard was not convinced of his actions, and since the other party was the highest commander of this operation, he did not dare to ignore his words and act on his own.

”I will tell you where the prince is.” Ji Qichi stopped the persuasion with a single sentence, causing all the hidden guards to retreat.

The dark guard was unwilling, so he could only accept the order and retreat.

Ji Qichi spurred his horse to the place where the fight had taken place. There were more than 10 corpses lying on the ground, he jumped off his horse and took off the mask on one of the corpses.

Ji Qichi shook the mask in her hand, it was sealed well, only revealing two eyes. She thought about it, then put on the mask again and followed the direction she escaped to.

After escaping to the front of a broken house, Gu Yicheng put the person down and pushed Yun Qianliang towards the door.

The Gu family's secret guards had exposed the two lords, each lying in ambush in their surroundings. When the enemies arrived, they would give them a surprise.

”Let's go in.” The two words landed firmly in front of the quiet and empty ground.

Yun Qianliang lowered her eyes and looked at his hands, using brute force to resist the inner strength, his hands were already numb and did not feel anything, holding onto the sword as though she was nothing, at the moment, she was not able to control his strength.

”Be careful!” Yun Qianliang turned and walked into the broken house, and casually closed the door.

Yun Qianliang hid inside the door, seeing the assassin close in on him, Gu Yicheng used his sword to block the door, the blood on the blade edge of the sword looked gloomy and terrifying.

The Assassin raised his sword and rushed forward, his target was Gu Yicheng.

The cold wind rustled in the forest as the sword danced and whistled in the air.

Gu Yicheng's eyes were solemn like a cold star, with a flip of his wrist, the long sword danced in the air, his body spinning in mid air as Sword Qi appeared.

Several dark guards jumped out, attacking the enemy from the back, trying to get rid of the master.

He brandished his longsword, his movements piercing through the air.

The battle outside was intense, but Yun Qianliang had to stop behind the door.

Yun Qianliang leaned on the door, and stared fixedly at the person who appeared in the broken house, his clear and cold eyes.

She slowly moved her hand away from the door and moved her feet from the doorway to the side. Her eyes moved from the sword to the mask that only revealed her eyes.

”Ji Qichi.” Her red lips moved slightly as three words came out of her mouth.

Yun Qianliang pursed her lips and laughed, then stood by the door.

Ji Qichi's sword pointed at Yun Qianliang, following her movements, heard the cool voice say out the three familiar words, and his mind became slightly perturbed.

How did she see through him?

Ji Qichi did not reply, she raised her sword and walked towards Yun Qianliang.
