Chapter 39 - Road Blocks

”Ahh!”

As Gu Yicheng's voice fell, the carriage started to move, the entire street was filled with voices and shouts, and among them, the sounds of galloping horses could be heard. The horses were galloping, causing the spectators to panic as they ran, and the clamor was like a cloud of dust, they were being trampled on by the horses' hooves.

Yun Qianliang held her breath and focused in listening to the slight noise, the sounds from the rubble drowning out the panic filled screams for help, there were at least 10 experts lying in ambush around the area.

In the chaos, Chun Hua who was casually grabbed by the shaft of the carriage fell down.

”Chun Hua!” Qiu Yue's face turned pale white, she leaned forward and grabbed the falling person.

Hearing the voice behind him, Yun Qianliang's solemn face revealed unprecedented seriousness, her indifference that seemed to be carved into her bones seemed to have instantly disappeared, as though this person was born with a solemn and upright appearance.

”Gu Yicheng, let's talk about the deal at the end.” Yun Qianliang's voice was as calm as water amidst the chaos.

”Talk about it at this time?” Gu Yicheng's tone became more cheerful as he became more interested in the person at his side, ”What other conditions do you have in your hands that are enough for me to exchange?”

”Interesting.” Gu Yicheng did not give an accurate answer, and instead, got more excited.

”You only need to answer me. Are you not going to make this deal?” Yun Qianliang did not smile.

”It depends on whether you have the ability to do so. This time, you owe me.” Gu Yicheng smirked and ordered in a cold voice, ”Gu San, leave the city.”

The horse carriage sped up, and the sound behind him gradually died down. Yun Qianliang heaved a sigh of relief.

Gu Yicheng had already expected that someone would attack him, so after leaving the city, he casually packed up his sleeves and belt, but with a sword leaning on the side of his legs, the atmosphere became more serious, unlike his relaxed appearance.

”Can you use a sword?” Gu Yicheng loosened the jade on his sleeve.

Yun Qianliang shook her head, ”I only know some martial arts.”

She was proficient in all kinds of martial arts in her previous life, so she was able to use it. However, this body was too different from her previous body. Her attacks might not be able to achieve the same effect as the previous ones.

Yun Qianliang did not retort, and the carriage stopped along with his words.

The sounds of arrows piercing through the air mixed with the clashing of blades. Yun Qianliang immediately laid down and dodged sharp arrows.
