Itachi was stunned on what Izumi said. He hurriedly took out a Kunai that reflected his eyes clearly and once again sent chakra strand to his eyes. But as Izumi said , they stayed same with not even a hint of red.
”What is happening?” Itachi was completely stunned ”Why … Sharingan… How is this possible?”
”Itachi …” Izumi came forward with her eyes sad and slightly wet and hugged him. Itachi stiffened on the sudden intimate contact . However Izumi seemed oblivious to it as she hugged him close while softly patting back of his head. ”Its fine Itachi, you don't need to rush it. You are the strongest and most hardworking Uchiha I have ever seen with the purest and kindest heart. You will definitely awaken the Sharingan don't worry. In the mean while , I will always be with you . You will always be the same to me whether you have awoken your eyes or not.”
Itachi felt her warm breath tickle his ears as he felt her soft fingers running through his long hair. His hands fluttered on his sides before he slowly brought them up and hugged her back gently and hesitatingly.
”Ah… ” Izumi gasped softly in happiness as Itachi hugged her back. Itachi gave a smile at that as he knew she would be feeling really happy that he finally responded to her. But he was glad for her presence in his life. He had temporarily forgotten everything but the two of them.
Suddenly he felt Izumi stiffening in his arms.
”Itachi … we gotta run !” Izumi suddenly said while hurriedly trying to pull him away.
”I am afraid that its too late for that.I have work from you both . Especially from you Miss Izumi Uchiha”Mystery Man with his hand bandaged approached them with a stern face
Itachi noticed finally that they were surrounded by ANBU but these didn't seem like the ANBU he had encountered while working under Hokage. These were very similar clothed with no distinguishing features among those of the same gender . It was as if they were made to have no individuality of their own .
”Who are you? I don't have to remind you that you are messing with the Uchiha Heir without any reason do I?” Izumi tried to threaten her way out of this. ”If you harm him without any reason the Uchihas wont stay quiet.”
”Uchihas…” The man sneered at the mention of them and Itachi finally recognized him. It was Danzo, the elder who had visited him on his graduation trying to recruit him to his shady ROOT organization before messing with his graduation options and recommending Minazuki as his Sensei. In a way Danzo was responsible for everything that went wrong in his life.
”What do you need from us Danzo Sama” Itachi inquired in a neutral voice.
”Ah so the young head of Uchiha does remember me” Danzo gave a nasty smirk ”Nothing much but … you see ever since your ancestor , that thrice cursed Madara Uchiha with those ridiculously overpowered eyes of his had appeared among Uchihas , My Sensei and I could never really trust you all. You Uchihas have always been a source of trouble for this village with those eyes of yours. But we cant let you leave either since you are useful at times too and letting you guys leave might weaken the village. So.. I got a wonderful idea when one of your own gave his eyes to a perfectly normal ninja without any Kekkei Genkai , making him one of the most well known Shinobi of today and gaining him the title 'Copy Ninja' . If one of you can donate your eyes…” Danzo took out a straight short blade at this point, as did the ANBU surrounding them ”Why not more of you do the same for the village. This village needs more Uchiha sacrifices to prosper , and your eyes will be put to good use. Especially Uchiha like you miss Izumi who cant even operate your eyes for long, such a waste. Such beautiful and powerful eyes should belong to those who know its use.” Danzo said as he turned his eyes filled with greed towards Izumi who had just activated her Sharingan.
”Itachi…. get ready. I will make an opening for you to escape. Get Fugaku sama , here as he is the only one who can fight these people. ” Izumi said while scanning each ANBU with her Sharingan ready for any sign of their attack.
”Izumi .. you..”
”I love you Itachi .” Saying as much Izumi jumped towards an ANBU who had made a sign of moving towards them while sending a few Shuriken towards them. Itachi too sent a lot of shurikens bouncing at each other, creating a dangerous zone of dancing shurikens.However at that moment , he heard a scream. Turning back he saw an ANBU with a Ninjato slicing through a few of Izumi's fingers holding her Kunai while she also had a deep cut on the shoulder of the same arm.
