Chapter 138

”Let's see what I've earned.” James excitedly clicked on the window, his favorite notification of all in DCO. Achievements, in any game, were always welcome. Who wouldn't want rewards for simply playing the game? And as a dungeon core, James had noticed a lot of times he got achievements based off of things he couldn't quite control. Instead, he was being rewarded for setting up the situation which could trigger the event for the achievement. Judging by the rewards, it seemed that was the case here as well. It also seemed that Dungeon Wars were going to introduce a whole new set of achievements for him, and BLANK, to earn. And he was pretty sure BLANK knew what most, if not all, of the dungeon war achievements were.

Zero Deaths!- Have a party of adventures successfully invade an enemy dungeon, and return without a single loss during Dungeon Wars

Reward- 1500xp, 500 resources, 50 dungeon essence

I'm Doing My Part Too!- Watch a party successfully complete an invasion

Reward- 500xp, 10 resources, 10 dungeon essence

Food For Thought (1)- collect a total of 100 dungeon essence (scaling achievement)

Reward- 500xp, 10 dungeon essence, 1 Dungeon Token

Food For Thought (2)- collect a total of 500 dungeon essence (scaling achievement)

Reward- 1000xp, 20 dungeon essence, 1 Dungeon Token

”Well that's neat.” James scanned the three achievements. The first two were courtesy of MercerEffects' team, that much was certain. It seemed that not only had they been the first to return from the invasion so far, but they had been unique in that they hadn't lost a single member. In short, James had gotten lucky with that achievement. Afterall, there wasn't much he could do to ensure a party survived without a single casualty once they invaded a dungeon.

Of course, it was also an achievement that would likely be gained by any dungeon in a dungeon war within the first two days of conflict. Party members tried their best not to die, and James knew with the opportunity for all 10,000 players to invade every day, there was no doubt in his mind that one team would return successfully without any deaths.

The second achievement was also a gimmie. In the span of two days before the full-scale battle on the third day, what dungeon core wouldn't watch an invasion, at least once? Like, seriously, what else would the dungeon be doing during that time. On the other hand…James could imagine BLANK wouldn't care to watch their players invade another dungeon. But the reward wasn't really groundbreaking, so even if they didn't, he doubted 10 dungeon essence would really give him an advantage in the war.

That thought was further solidified with the third achievement. MercerEffect and his team were the first to return, and upon return, their dungeon essence had immediately been transferred over to James. James had noticed that when a small message scrolled across his screen where global announcements usually appeared. It had simply informed him that dungeon essence had been acquired. It wasn't hard to put two and two together though. From what James remembered on the rules for Dungeon Wars for players, when they returned to the dungeon the dungeon essence was converted to experience for the players. There were also loot options available once they earned certain amounts of dungeon essence. James had enjoyed crafting that loot for them.
