Chapter 64 - The Dream of Fear (2/2)

“Emil! Emil! Where are you? Come to mommy quickly!”

Compared to before, there seemed to be a hint of urgency in her voice. However, it could be heard that the person who spoke was a little anxious.

Without any hesitation, Emil immediately ran in the direction of the black shadow.

The distance between her and the black shadow continued to close. As Emil continued to run, she could clearly see that the fog around her was starting to reduce and disappear.

Was she finally going to walk out?

Seeing this scene, Emil’s actions became even faster. Finally, she had really had enough of this damned fog.

Very soon, Emil ran to the vicinity of the black shadow.

And the black shadow’s real body also became increasingly clear in front of her eyes.

If it were the usual Emil, at this moment, she would definitely have noticed that this black shadow’s appearance was a little strange.

Because she was too tall, Emil’s mother was not that tall.

Furthermore, she was too thin. Although her mother was also skinny, the thinness displayed by the black shadow was not something that a normal person could have.

Unfortunately, there were no ifs.

Emil, who had lost her cool and even lost her ability to think and make decisions, only had that black shadow in her heart. That black shadow that she had mistaken for her mother.

“Mommy, I’m here! I’m here!”

Emil shouted excitedly as she ran.

She quickly ran to the front of the black shadow, then pounced on it and hugged it tightly.

“Mommy, don’t leave me again, okay? I’m earning money now, and I can support the two of us. We don’t have to face that person anymore. We’re free, mommy!”

The moment she hugged the shadow, Emil burst into tears. She wantonly vented her feelings, and all kinds of emotions poured out crazily along with her tears.

The fear, unease, hesitation, anger, anxiety, and other negative emotions along the way were all vented at this moment.

After venting, reason came back online and took control of Emil’s body.

After a short moment of joy, Emil suddenly felt that something was wrong.

Why was her firecracker body so rough and hard?

Thinking of this, Emil gently released her embrace and looked up.

With Emil’s gaze, the fog that blocked her vision began to dissipate.

A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the person’s appearance in front of Emil.

Only then did she see clearly that the person she was holding was not her mother.

It was a tall, thin, and sinister scarecrow!

She was not unfamiliar with this scarecrow’s appearance. Instead, it was the enlarged version of the one that had appeared in her dormitory.

“Emil! Emil! Where are you? Quickly come to mommy!”

Feeling Emil’s gaze, the scarecrow’s sawtooth office opened and closed its mouth, letting out a kind voice.

Emil’s pale face of fear was reflected in the scarecrow’s eyes.

The corners of his mouth grew longer and longer until the corners of his mouth reached the ends of his ears.

The gentle voice formed a strong contrast with his ferocious and strange appearance, creating a huge difference.

At this moment, Emil only felt her scalp go numb, and her mind went blank.

The great fear turned into a flood that washed over her body, completely drowning her.

Thump! Thump!

Thump! Thump!

Under the intense fear, Emil’s heart beat violently, as if it was about to jump out of Emil’s chest.

She could clearly hear her own heartbeat, but Emil had never realized that her heartbeat was so loud.

It was as if she was beating a drum, causing her to be distracted.

The scene froze for a second before she let out a shrill scream. Then, she turned around and ran.

“Ah!”
