Chapter 29 (2/2)

“Then, what about the Demon God you mentioned just now?”

“This…” Mika was a little embarrassed. She looked at Flanders and said, “Maybe what you did just now wasn’t up to standard, so the summoning failed.”

Flanders looked like he understood. He nodded cooperatively.

At this moment, Mika finally understood.

This guy obviously did not believe her. He was probably treating her like a fool!

It seemed like he was trying to cover up the awkwardness, or perhaps he wanted to save face.

Mika said quickly with a straight face, “Let me tell you, this was just an accident, and it must be because of you. It’s impossible for the mistake to come from my side.

“I’m very familiar with this devil summoning ritual. Do you know how many supernatural stories and novels I’ve read?

“And not just summoning rituals, I’m very familiar with curse rituals, death-seeking rituals, and contract rituals.

“And…”

Mika deliberately paused at this point. Then, she pretended to be mysterious.

“And, I’ve seen ghosts with my own eyes.”

Flanders’s interest was piqued, and he could not help but repeat after her, “Ghosts?”

Seeing that Flanders was obviously interested, Mika then spoke with confidence, “That’s right. Ghosts, a real ghost.”

Hearing this, Flanders was indeed somewhat interested.

Thinking about it, if this Mika was not lying, what she saw was likely a strange creature.

Flanders had tasted the fear of ordinary people and the fear of the members of the Mage Association, but he had not tasted the fear of strange creatures yet.

Therefore, he was still somewhat curious.

If he could learn about strange creatures from Mika, perhaps he could go and look for them.

At this time, Mika saw that Flanders seemed interested, so she regained her confidence.

‘That’s right. I, Mika, am a senior supernatural fan. How can I be underestimated by this boy?

‘Watch as I make you admire me.’

Thinking of this, Mika smiled proudly and said seriously, “You know about the scarecrow that was very popular on the internet a while ago, right?”

Hearing this, Flander’s had a strange expression.

‘What’s going on? This girl has seen me before?’

However, Mika did not understand Flanders’s strange expression. She simply thought Flanders was afraid or surprised.

So, Mika continued to speak with confidence.

“This is a true story. When I was traveling in Nord City, I saw the scarecrow walk into a taxi with my own eyes.

“Then, when he wasn’t paying attention, I hid in the trunk of the car.”

Mika spoke as if it was real, as if she had seen it with her own eyes.

However, Flanders naturally knew that this woman was bragging. He had activated his Disguise skill at that time so no one would be able to recognize him.

Flanders did not expose her, though. He just smiled and let Mika continue bragging.

After bragging for a while, Mika asked seriously, “Do you know what the scarecrow looks like?

“He…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Flanders interrupted him.

“Like this?”

Mika was interrupted and could not react for a moment. Just as she was about to lose her temper, she saw that the face of the boy in front of her had suddenly turned into a solidified liquid that was still melting.

The skin and fat on his face were slowly dripping down, revealing the straw face inside.

This time, Mika’s face instantly turned pale and she could not speak.

Meanwhile, Flanders opened his mouth and smiled.

On the left side of his face, it was still the original appearance of the boy she had met earlier. He looked rather handsome.

The right side of his face, however, had completely turned into the original appearance of the scarecrow.

The mouth had even split open all the way up to his ears.

Looking at the girl in front of him, who was trembling slightly, Flanders inched his face closer to hers.

“Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name’s Flanders, and I’m the scarecrow that you just mentioned.”
