Chapter 28 (2/2)

“She had just finished chanting when an invisible hand lifted her up.

“Though she had a strong desire to survive, in front of this huge force, all she could do was kick as hard as she could.

“As she struggled, her shoes fell to the ground, and her strength gradually decreased.

“The life force in her body was constantly depleting, and she gradually became desperate.

“Fear and regret appeared on her face until she completely died and collapsed to the ground.

“The invisible giant hand returned to the book, and it was as if nothing had happened in the library.”

Mika’s eyes lit up when she read this paragraph.

That’s right, this was the information she was looking for!

Lily must have set up some summoning ritual in the library, but in the end, her soul was taken away by the Demon God!

Mika became more and more excited when she thought of this.

“As expected, I knew it. There are indeed demons and monsters in this world!”

Although she had a simple plan in her mind, she did not act immediately.

There were people outside the library and it was cordoned off.

She would wait for some time to pass before taking action.

That night, Mika snuck into the library.

The library was usually empty before 10 o’clock.

However, it was just seven o’clock but there was no one there that day.

There was no other reason—the library was simply too scary.

Although Lily’s body had been taken away, no one was willing to come.

Looking at the quiet library, where even the lights were not turned on, Mika smiled proudly.

The first step was completed.

With a creak, Mika gently pushed the library door open.

As soon as she stepped in, Mika’s body trembled.

A boy was standing where Lily’s body was.

Just as he was about to scream, Mika quickly covered his mouth and snorted.

The boy seemed to have heard her movements and turned his head to look at Mika in suspicion.

Mika laughed awkwardly and waved.

“H-hello.”

He was here to investigate the supernatural incident. If he screamed because he met someone, how embarrassing would that be?

The other party saw that Mika had greeted him and nodded slightly. Then, he continued to look at the empty floor.

Looking at that, Mika walked up to the boy and asked curiously, “You think there’s something fishy about this, too, right?”

The boy was slightly surprised. He turned to look at Mika.

“You, too?”

At this time, Mika coughed lightly and said rather proudly, “That’s right. Although everyone thinks that Lily died suddenly, I sense something fishy about this matter.

“I suspect it’s a supernatural incident!”

Speaking up to this point, Mika appeared even more proud looking at the boy’s surprised expression.

It was as if she was the only one who knew the truth.

The boy frowned slightly and thought for a moment before saying, “I think I heard you call her Lily just now. Did you know her?”

Mika nodded slightly, but she did not stay there any longer. Instead, she walked to the bookshelf near Lily’s corpse.

As she used the flashlight to illuminate the place, she answered nonchalantly, “Lily’s my roommate, but we weren’t very close.

“In my opinion, Lily must’ve held some evil ritual in the library, but because the steps weren’t done properly, she got herself killed.”

Looking at Mika’s confident expression, the boy did not say anything. He just quietly leaned over and watched Mika as she rummaged through the books on the bookshelf.

After rummaging for about ten minutes, Mika finally pulled out a book from the bookshelf. She said in surprise, “It can’t be wrong, this is it!”

The boy leaned over to take a look at the cover.

‘Strange Urban Tales’.
