24 24. The Interference (1/2)
Shani's POV
Two hours later a portal was opened for us. Savaric was hesitant but he eventually followed us, not wanting to face my elders without us around to help him.
We reached the kingdom and were greeted by Rain, with Ranulf standing by his side. Savaric was looking tense and amazed at the same time, since he had never seen a fallen angel before.
I could see Rain was watching Ranulf's amused expression to Savaric's unshielded gaze towards his wings, and muscular upper body which he proudly display.
Hmm...I guess it affected everyone, I was remembering when I saw him for the first time while Arkael was standing next to me.
Then Rain ushered me to Arkael's chamber, leaving them all behind.
”So, how's Ranulf been treating you?” I asked while Rain help me with all my preparation.
”He's helping me a bit too much. I'm actually overwhelmed, my wolf hated him but I...he...god Shani, I can't seem to resist him. I've been struggling and I'm glad that you're here right now....” he was talking non stop.
Oh god...this is bad...
I hope this ends well...
”... I couldn't believe that I was boiling, when I saw that Savaric guy feasting his eyes on Ranulf...”
He was busying himself with my stuff, but it was obvious that he was struggling. I hugged him tightly, knowing that he needed it. I could feel him relax in my arms.
”You're a good man Rain, I'm very certain that you would make the right decision. I know how Ranulf looked at you, and honestly I just don't want you to get hurt.”
I can't imagine if the universe decided to screw him for the second time.
He chuckled nervously and smiled at me.
”I know hurting me would be the last thing on his mind. But my wolf is fighting for his mate. He's still hurting badly and he still wants revenge. While I honestly am very tired, I just wanted everything to be done with...but then every time he's around I feel the need to survive... I really don't know, if I could make it once we're back on earth after my wolf has finish with his revenge.”
”Oh Rain...I'm so sorry about Don. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it must've felt like...” I said hugging him again.
”I'll managed, I will at least try...” he told me as he pulled back, and asked me to prepare to open my communication with my elders.
I nodded to Rain, thinking that I'll talk to him later and be there and offer any help that I could give.
Laying everything down and opening the book, I later made the sacred circle around me. I was getting my black chalk and start scribbling on the floor. I put the last element ingredient on the circle, then took a seat in the middle.
”Please don't let anyone in, I need to keep them from knowing where we are.” I said to Rain as I send him outside the room. But told him to go back in, once he had done telling the others. I need him as my backup, just in case things went wrong.
I was concentrating on my inner strength. My eyes were closed, as I conjure my powers in opening communication with my elders. I could hear the buzzing sound, and feel the warm breeze of the dense air surrounding me.
Then I opened my eyes and see five shapes of my elders, all sitting surrounding me on my hand-drawn circle. Each represent their characteristic for water, wood, fire, earth and metal, the five elements of life. To which they channel in kindness, enthusiasm, security, presistence, and mental strength.
Supposedly that were their representation, but honestly I haven't felt anything more than their constant words ordering me task after task. I felt like I was their glorified errand girl, rather than their true desecendant who would recieved guidance and knowledge.
”Shani child...it's been awhile. We have been expecting you...” they sounded as cold and as distant as expected.
”I'm here now, you had conveyed your message through Savaric. Why do you want me to restore the balance in hell?” I tried to keep myself calm, though it was very hard to do.
