39 Episode 39: Roots and Banquets (2/2)

”Looking good and relieved wow”

They really look like normal people.

But then how did Rex grow up to be such an amazing person?

”Um...”

How did you two raise Lex? That was when I tried to ask.

”Lex's friends are coming!

Suddenly I opened the door and an unknown grandfather came in.

He's not like his grandfather I met at the entrance to the village.

”What's wrong with this, village chief?

”Oh, those young men there aren't Lex's friends. Come on, come on!

My grandfather, called the village chief, bangs us on the shoulder.

It hurts a little.

”We've got guests around the corner! We're having a feast tonight! Everybody gather in the village square for a drink!

I don't know what it is, but is this welcome?

”Everybody! Don't entertain Lex's friends!

”” ”” Oooh!! ””

Suddenly the village chief brought us to the village square to attend a banquet in the name of a welcome party.

”Come on, I ate. I ate! Our cows are delicious!

”Oops, the eggs our cocktails have grown are delicious too! Eat it!

”Hey, hey, it's a banquet, so what are you gonna do without recommending alcohol! Drink the alcohol we made!

”” ”Whatever. Because Lex made it taste so good!

The people who recommend cooking and alcohol name Mr. Rex in a different tone.

”Is Mr. Rex deeply involved in raising livestock and brewing liquor?!?”

”Oh, it's not like it's deep. When he gets a little bit of a hand, he demonstrates a ton of everything!

”Yeah, well, it looks like our chicken coop too, because the eggs tasted halfway better when Lex added the coco he brought in from the mountains!

That egg, it's big enough for a kid to hold it.

”Uh, is that really a chicken egg?

”Hmm? Lex said something about Phoenix.”

”Feh!?”

Wait, isn't that the name of the legendary immortal?!?

”Do you mean Phoenix, that flaming bird!?”

”Flame? No, it was bright red like it was on fire when Rex brought it in, but if I did some trick about keeping it inside, I'd normally have white hair.”

That must be some special technology!?

”Maybe this cow's meat is some special cow, too?

”Uh, no, you said crazy buffs or something. You said you'd be quiet if you hit him and then cut the corner.”

”Crazy buffs are definitely the names of B-rank demons, aren't they?

Mina stares at a cow skewer that she thinks is made of crazy buffs as she trembles with her wana wana.

”Hey you guys, this is sooo yummy! Eat up!”

But if you don't mind, Mr. Gyro eats crazy-buff meat flat and pounds his tongue on Phoenix egg omelettes.

”This alcohol is delicious!

You've already stopped thinking about it, and Megri enjoyed the alcohol she recommended.

”No, no, no, no! It's a sparkling apple called Jewel Apple.”

”Jewel up loooooooooooo!?”

Wow!? I've never seen Megri shout out and be surprised!?

”Mr. Megri, is Jewel Apple such an amazing substitute?

”Not amazing or anything, but phantom fruit. It's literally as transparent as a gem, with great values among the favorites. Even in the back market, Jewel Apple is traded for a great deal of money. The very existence of the tree is strictly controlled in the first place and we don't even know where it is”

Awesome, I tried to start where Megri was talking fast and long sentences!?

”He said he found it growing in the mountains, and Rex didn't bring the whole tree - he's growing it on us. I don't enjoy having beautiful fruits every year.”

”Tree!? Really?!?”

Mr. Megli is eating up with great momentum.

That's really valuable stuff...

”Oh, are you interested in apples? Why don't you come see me next time?

”Go! Absolutely go!

Sounds like Mr. Megri's head is already full of jewel apples.

”Hey, I've got a new prey. Yo!

Along with that voice, the kids brought new ingredients.

You're very impressed with the help of your parents.

”This, we hunted!

”Are you guys here!?”

Oh my god, are you hunting with the hunters even though you are just young kids!?

So much so that Mr. Rex is young and has tremendous strength, because this is how you've built up your workouts since you were young.

”Land Dragon Meat Delicious”

...? Like the name of a C-rank demon just came up?

”Uh? Did you say meat from the Land Dragon?

”Yeah! It's so delicious!

A land-dragon, C-ranked, large lizard demon, a demon from whose giant to dragon child is bewitched.

Not as dragon or Wyburn, but large and fast legs, fangs and nails are strong enemies with sharp and stiff scales. He is a troublesome opponent in that he is difficult to attack with his sword because he is crawling and acting on the ground.

Did the kids take it down...

”By the way, how did you take him down?

”Uh, hey, the Circ magically stopped and me and Lute attacked with their necks and tails split in their hands. Oh, and the tail is delicious!

”... is that right”

The kids say that defeating the C-rank demon is like nothing, and that the taste of the tail is more important than that.

”... oh, it's Mr. Rex's hometown”

True, there was nothing else to say.

Oh, the tail of the Land Dragon was delicious.
