34 Outworld part 2 (1/2)

'So Galtea, you are telling me this is a distorted world on its countdown for destruction? Does it really have no real bearing on the grand scheme of things honestly? I seriously doubt that!' I just couldn't believe it. No way this place was gonna collapse. Especially with all the power here.

Galtea: For the last time it will not matter for you right now. Just compete well. Got it?

'Sure.' Not wanting to keep getting into it with her, I focused on the arena that was before us. ”So what do you think? Gale.” Gale was her code name here. I found it fitting. She said it was belittling a little. Considering how Riku moved like the wind at times, I thought about changing it to Typhoon.

Riku grinned at me. Before pinching my side. ”Not a problem Master Mist! When are you going to get better for you can actually use Ice properties?”

I feined pain grabbing at my chest. ”Ouch so hostile. It was better than the alternative. I dont want to call you Typhoon. It is so... manly.”

”I am not manly. But look at these guns.” Riku pointed at her biceps. ”Only babes that look like me can look this good and bench press a Krogan.”

”Right.” Smiling at her antics, I couldn't help but stare at her. I finally turned away and paid attention to the end of the speech. ”This is not bearing well for them at all. Look at all the fighter's over there.”

”The final competition to determine the fate of all Edinian's shall begin. Your Highness Jerrod, choose your combatants.” The referee said neutrally. He was a robed figure with no real facial features showing. His body looked frail from the robes really. Like they threaten to drag him to the ground from the weight.

Jerrod looked to his fighters wearily. Since his prized team was killed in the first Kombat. a lot of the other fighters did not even wish to participate. He called on an old pact with Earthrealm and asked for volunteers. The only ones to fight or answer the call were the Lin Kuei.

”Grandmaster, what say you? Will you allow your people to fight on our behalf?” Jerrod asked with the respect of a King but still slightly pleading.

The Grandmaster watched for a moment before his eyes glazed over. Staring at Jerrod he felt confliction. Steeling his old resolve, he responded to his old friend, ”I am sorry but we must depart.” Not waiting to hear any statements. a Dragon Gate opened behind him and he walked through. One by one the different Lin Kuei factions followed. Sektor stepped forward.

”I do not know what came over grandfather,” he said flustered. ”But I will get him to come back. There is no way he would just abandon you all.” Following behind the others he left. Only ones left were Sub-Zero, Tundra, Frost, Azul, and Riku.

King Jerrod looked towards Bi-Han bowing. ”Thank you for honoring my request.” He didn't know what to do if this kept up.. his entire realm would be under the rule of Shao Khan. His eyes looked to his wife and daughter. More than anything, if they could be spared... if the Elder Gods answered wishes. He would have them spared this fate at least.

”Tundra you go first,” Bi-Han said authoritatively. He was very confident in his younger brother's victory.

”As you wish,” Tundra said smoothly. His cheekbones could be seen having risen a little. He was definitely happy for this chance to show off.

”You got this!” Frost cheered with excitement. Realizing her current company she piped down immediately after. Riku just snickered at the girl.

Stepping into the arena, Tundra bowed to his opponent. His opponent did not return his greeting.

”Fight!” The referee said before stepping out.

With a charging strike, Tundra's opponent swung towards the latter's midsection. With a block with his palm, Tundra stabbed down at the assailant's forearm. I saw a small then line of ice energy travel outward. The assailant's arm then dangled lifelessly to the side. With a quick palm thrust to the chest, his opponent was down.

”Kuff, kuff,” the man coughed trying to get up. He was having trouble breathing. Standing halfway up, he was then knocked back down from a leg sweep from Tundra.

In a second a small ice sword was pointed at his neck. ”Yield!”

”I yield!” The man said quickly before scampering out the arena.

”The winner Tundra!” The referee said to small applause from theEdinian's side.

Riku jumped into the ring. ”I am next! Let's do this.”

A man with dreadlocks walked into the arena next. He stared at Riku before his eyes started to glow with electricity. ”I am going to enjoy breaking you girl!” He said quite angrily if I had to say so. ”I am Koyat.”

”Heh, bigger and better than you have tried. Yet here I am still standing.” Riku said tauntingly. Her hood covered her head as her mask rose up covering to her eyes. ”You came just in time, I needed to try something.” Sliding her left foot back behind her, I couldn't tell what pose she entered. But it would be formidable I hope. ”The name is Gale.”

”Ready... begin.” The referee said stepping out quickly. He moved further from Riku. I guess he could feel the power.

Koyat charged out with a side karate chop. Riku moved to the side and strung his wrist. She then tapped at the elbow. Small squirts of blood came out. It dripped onto the dirt forming little droplets. Riku then stepped behind him and struck for his exposed ribcage. Her strike was extremely slow for some reason.

Koyat pivoted on his back heel. His other foot kicked off the front and turned into a knee strike. His knee caught Riku in her palm.

”Krack,” someone's bone broke. It was Koyat's by that expression on his face. Hoping back a little he stood wobbly. ”What are you made of girl?!” He said indignantly. When the strike touched, it felt if he hit solid steel.

”Not telling,” Riku said. Despite the mask, I could hear the humor in her voice slightly. Taking a step forward she stopped. She flexed her hand before shaking it off. Next thing I knew a sandy whip came out the ground grabbing her leg. ”What the heck?!” She said alarmed. She pulled her foot a little before she looks to see Koyat swinging at her with a blood whip with his good arm.

”Hyah!” Koyat screamed when his whip came down. In a split second, it spits into multiple raining down from above.

”Splat,” the bloody whips broke apart on Riku. Scattering all over the ground. It did little to no damage. Besides her clothes, she remained uninjured mostly. I say mostly because she looked offended in a way. Koyat looked as if he was staring at a monster. ”How... how did that do nothing?!”

Riku flexed her energy along with her wind power. The energy pushed the blood up, while the wind diced it apart. In less than three seconds all the blood in the area was gone. Now freed she floated above the ground about an inch.

Koyat realized his mistake in stopping the attack. Running his hand along his dangling forearm, he cut it open realizing more blood. Something about Riku scared him more than before. He looked closely at her ready to defend at a moments notice. Spotting the flickering light in her eyes, he took a step back in fear.

Shao Khan was not pleased from his seat. With a nod of his head, an under-ling moved away to the side.

Feeling slightly off-put by this, I release my Pyscho/Soul power. Taking in the biotic strands slowly from the different people in the audience. Unknown to me, the Eldar sword appeared out.

A slight hum ringing out from it drew the attention of Frost, who stared at it before looking back at the fight.

Riku rushed in disappearing from my unfocused view. She appeared behind the man before striking his spine.

”Krackkk,” the sound of bones breaking in the arena could be heard. Followed by a bunch of gasps from the crowd. ”Gasp!” How powerful is she a bunch of people said? I could see some on Shao Khan's side appraising Riku. A lot of them had started to get weird ideas in their head. Dumb on them anyway.

Stumbling forward, Koyat turned onto his back breathing in pain. His chest heaving up and down slowly. ”Please.. dont... I have .. family.” He begged.

”Didn't you say you were gonna break me?” Riku said dangerously as she floated over to him.

”I... was bluffing.” He said, in an almost whimpering voice. I didn't believe him for a second. The man was lying no doubt about it. Riku then landed on the ground and walked past him. Koyat smiled and lifted his good arm up.

I felt a strange increase in the magic within the crowd. Seeing the attendant eyes from earlier glowing I fired at his direction. 'Lv1 85/150 Concussive Shot!' The aquatic missile flew up, an over the barrier of the arena striking the man in the chest. On contact, it exploded blasting a hole in his chest.

”Riku!” I yelled. She turned to see a large wave of bloody whips come at her. Each of the strikes moved deadly fast. Eliciting a strange sound as if ripping the air apart. Riku body disappeared in the various strikes. I could no longer make out her image.

Staring at Shao Khan I shouted. ”You cheating bastard!” He just grinned at my response. I forgot how much a dick he was. I actually started to dislike him now. Looking back at the arena, I watched as the attack finally settled down. Only thing left a piece of Riku's clothing. Frost tensed next to me. Tundra balled his fist. Sub-Zero stood calmly.

”Hehehe,” Koyat cackled. ”Stupid girl honestly think I was done with.” Standing up, he spits in Riku's clothing remains. His body morphed with blood and returned to normal. ”Should not have dropped your guard.”

”You are right. It is dumb to drop your guard. I was just giving you a chance.” Riku voice could be heard but I didn't see her till she rose from the ground. slowly the wind formed togethor till it made her image. She looked out of breath. ”Huff.. huff.. that took a lot out of me. But not enough for me to lose.”

With a curve of her hand, she swung down. A large part of Koyat's chest ripped off. The man screamed bloody murder this time. ”Aaaaahhh! I yield. I yield!” He said. Riku stepped back watching him.

The referee called the match. Shao Khan then stepped up smacking his chair. ”Kill that coward! Finish him!” He said in uncontrollable anger.

Riku looked to me then towards the man. Her eyes sparked a bit before she stepped forward. She grabbed him by the mouth and threw him in the air. She then walked to the end of the ring and stopped. She stared at Shao Khan and closed her fist. Koyat body fell to the ground. But before touching it, his skin ripped off from invisible blades. Then his muscles started to tear apart. His bones followed suit with nothing remaining. Riku stopped and looked at me.

I smiled at her. ”Good fight. You ok?” She smiled and then collapsed against me.

”Just really tired. Really sleepy.” Riku yawned cutely. She grabbed me even tighter. ”Let's go home. I don't trust theseEdinian's.”

”I cant make that call. But if it gets dangerous I will grab you and we will haul tail it out of here.” Seeing her smile, I looked at Bi-Han. ”Do you think it wise we stay here helping them?”

”Yes. I think we can manage.” He looked to Tundra then to Frost. ”You two see to her.” Looking back at me he looked me up and down before whispering in my ear. ”We have to win. I cannot break the pact. Unlike the Grandmaster that left, we still have our honor. Once we win I will get the Dragon bracelet and return back home with it. Considering how the Grandmaster has the Dragon Medallion, the bracelet residing with our faction will be in safer hands.”

”Understood,” I said agreeing mostly. I know of the medallion but not of any bracelet. I hope there are not a lot of these bloody things. I was pulled from my thoughts when the referee said to choose your next fighter.

I looked at Bi-Han before walking into the arena. My hand passed over Riku's head. I cast a small heal spell just in case.

A member of the Shokan stepped forward. It was a male of their race but slightly different than the others. A woman behind him wearing a crown placed her two left hands on him. She whispered something before releasing him.

Stepping into the ring he looked at Shao Kahn with a wane smile and bowed. Turning to our side he announced, ”I am Kintaro of the Tigrar Shokan.”

”I Mist of the Lin Kuei will fight,” I said looking out at Shao Khan defiantly. Reaching down I fixed my mask tightly. I assumed the modified stance of the Lin Kuei and my own fighting style. 'Lv3 81/100 Misty Fist.' Activating I felt an increase in its power and movement. That is when I noticed the sword. 'How did that get on me?'

”Begin!” The referee called. Kintaro jumped in the air. Coming down in a stomp I barely managed to jump to the side out of the way. Rolling in the sand I stood up. Kintaro was already in my face swinging at me. Dodging both of his left claw swipes, I didnt evade the right ones.

”Krack, crack,” My ribs broke instantly.

”Gasp,” the wind was knocked out of me. I felt my lungs work harder for me to breath. That blow had rattled me to the core. The second blow is the only reason I believe I didn't blackout. Sending out a left jab I caught his side. Small scratches appeared along the length of his side fur. With his hands coming down for a double-tap I threw up my biotic shield. 'Lv5 321 /370 Biotic Shielding'

Soon as it made contact it almost ruptured. I slid back in the sand. pulling my hand back I fired an aquatic concussive shot. It hit against his wrist guard breaking it. Charging back in I ducked his arm strike. When the next came I jumped forward and using his own arm strength, I jumped off them and kicked him in the face. I barely saw his health dwindle.

”Bam!” He stepped back only one step. That is when I realized I messed up. While still in the air he grabbed my other foot. ”Oh crap!” With a hard pull, he slammed me on to the ground. Once, twice, three times before I kicked his hands getting free.
