”Uh, then I'll be troubling Young Lady Su.”
Su Zhi glanced at the untouched breakfast on the plate and shook her head helplessly. She quickly heated up the porridge, boiled another egg, hid it in her sleeve and carried the breakfast back to Xiao Qian's tent.
At this moment, Xiao Qian had just finished washing his face and rinsing his mouth. He didn't feel hungry even though he hadn't slept for the entire night. Seeing that it was already late in the morning, he was afraid that his lack of attention would arouse suspicion from his subordinates.
Outside the door, the gatekeeping general's laughter could be heard. ”Young lady Su, you're here.”
”En, I heard that the general did not have breakfast. I don't know if it's because of the taste, but I came here to ask.”
”The general is inside. Let me inform you.”
Xiao Qian heard their conversation and sat back in his chair. He opened the account book and started flipping through it.
The general came in and said respectfully, ”General, Madame Su has come to deliver your food.”
”Let her go back. This general isn't hungry. I'll go train with the accounts later.”
When the general heard that, he looked worried, ”How can that be? People are made of iron, while people are made of steel. Besides, you have to work hard all night, so you have to be slow no matter what.”
Xiao Qian then stopped what he was doing and pretended to think deeply, ”That's true. Let her in.”
Hearing this, the general immediately got Su Zhi to go in and wait upon him.
”General, are these dishes not to your liking?”
Su Zhi saw Xiao Qian in armor the moment she entered the door. This uniform was meant for either training or hunting.
”That's not true. I have so many doubts about the account book that I forgot to have a meal.”
Su Zhi laughed and did not expose him. ”No matter how busy you are, you still have to worry about eating. Tell me about the problems and I'll answer them.”
Xiao Qian coughed and casually pointed out a place that would give her a headache.
