Just like last time, Xiao Qian put Su Zhi down and let her go back by herself to avoid being talked about by others.

After Su Zhi recovered from her shock, she was no longer as frightened as she was before. Instead, she was more at ease with her gratitude towards Xiao Qian.

She looked behind her, but there was no sign of the man. She smiled at the empty trail behind the mountain.

Su Zhi washed her body clean and quickly fell asleep.

That night, the Great General Xiao, who had returned from his night patrol, began to lose sleep again.

He hurriedly changed out of his clothes that had caught the scent of Su Zhi's body, changed into a worn-out robe, and lit a kerosene lamp to continue his nightly battle.

When the soldier on night duty reminded him to sleep, Xiao Qian was still awake. He turned out the lights and went to bed to meditate.

As the sun rose in the east, it was yet another sunny day.

Su Zhi was sleeping soundly, and had a lot of energy when cooking. She finished cooking the breakfast in just a few hours.

Early this morning, another batch of soldiers from the military camp packed up and left.

The amount of food stored was decreasing rapidly, but there was also a significant reduction in the number of people.

Seeing this, Su Zhi was also happy that the method had worked.

Not long after he finished his work, Liu Zhong ran over to the kitchen excitedly and shouted to Su Zhi, ”Lady Su, this is porridge for the general. I'm afraid it's bad for the stomach if it gets cold, so I'll have to trouble you to heat it up again.”

Su Zhi stopped the work she was doing and asked with a puzzled expression, ”The breakfast hour has been going on for a long time. Did the general not eat at all during this time?”

”Yes.” The guard put the meal on the table as he saw the general meditating with his eyes closed. It took four hours for the general to get up. ”

Looks like he stayed up late last night looking at his account book.

Why was this man so stubborn? He already said that he wouldn't be in a hurry with her helping out.

”I got it. I'll heat up the porridge in the pot again and then I'll take it myself.”
