Chapter 546: In the face of a Monster (1/2)

[For how much has he been controlling things? How much of everything can he manipulate? Wait… this much Revenant in one place appearing and… the Congregation… was he the one…] Little by little, Chang Ping's eyes brightened.

The God-Class Cultivators were not that many and were few in between. They have their designated posts and could hardly move about without risking the Cosmos' safety.

Only when the Red Dawn World, that was the only remaining Bastion on the North fell did, the Gods got the chance to move and attend a Congregation and that was out of necessity due to several equations like the appearance of the Revenants.

[Wait… could it be?] Chang Ping realized something else, [My fall from the Red Dawn World that allowed the Abyss to take full control of it and gain access to the Inner and Middle Rings. The Appearance of the Revenants… that all led to the Congregation of all Major Powers… where we almost died if not for Master's presence… is it possible?]

The best way to kill? Become strong? Yes, but in the end, one must first hunt all the targets down. If the other targets were to know of the events that led to the death of their companions, then their defenses would increase.

[The Revenants' appearance in the Congregation was not a mistake… or survival was. It was all planned, the appearance of the Revenants and the influx of the Abyssal Demons on the day of the Wang Family and the White Tigers' war. All of it were planned for the living to feel pressure and the Congregation to happen.]

Chang Ping, realized all of it too late and now, instead of enlightening what she felt was nothing more than emptiness and fear. The Emperor of Death… was far more than what anyone had thought.

Many schemed in different ways and approaches conflicts differently from the others. For the thousands of years Chang Ping had lived, many had schemed against her.

To best her in combat. To take over the Tower from her, to take her life. All of it had been done, but all failed at the end of the day. She could uncover them and feel something was wrong. But this time, even after for so long, she couldn't even tell that she was dancing on someone else's palm all this time.

It was devastating and as she fell from the skies, she closed her eyes and allowed the tears to escape from her eyes. She was tired… and for the first time in ages, she had neither strength, will, nor conviction to even try and fight back against her enemies. The Sword God fell into the despair and the unbeatable legend collapsed not from a sword but despair.

”MOTHER!” Tang Ai shouted aloud she tried approaching but from behind there appeared a Revenant and this time, no one was there to protect her from her impulsiveness.

Slash

A quick flash of red, no hesitation nor mercy. Tang Ai's arm was cut off. The Revenant missed her neck and just as her throes of pain was about to echo, her tearful eyes saw more and more Revenants coming for her neck.

At the same time as Tang Ai was about to perish, the other Elites in the vicinity, all fell behind in facing the Abyssal Demons and Revenants. They were all beginning to keel over from the distractions of their companions' death, the rain of purple spears, and their own weakening bodies that failed to keep up to their needs.

The less they kill, the more the pile of unending Abyssal Demons flooded their ranks. Even the Origin Race could not go help the others as they were too preoccupied of their own problems. Their incapability to even use their full strength because of the All-Father Clones proved to be the beginning of their end.
